I looked it up and the 427 did not come out in Cyclones until ‘68. I figured with the T-Bolt getting it earlier, it would have also made it to the Cyclone.

I guess the closest I am going to get to that is the ‘67 Fairlane GTA S code sitting in the shop awaiting restoration. Someday...

I am surprised the 440 Fury Interceptor was not faster judging on some threads contributed to by former California HP officers.

I cannot imagine running that speed on bias ply tires and maybe front drum brakes.

My 73 Vette with 454 was well over 140 at one time. Pretty sure my buddy was speechless when we were slowing down. 143 as indicated on my Ninja. Not a lot of room for error at those speeds. Needless to say, I cannot do that kind of thing now being an old fogey at 44 years of age.

LOL, have done it many times years ago. Back in those days a used state police car could be bought off the state for 800 to 900 bucks. When I was a teenager I worked in the local service station that washed state cop cars. The 383 with three on the tree belvedere , would out run the fury II.

I ran Bias ply VW tires on the front of my drag mustang I never worried about stopping, I worried about starting and getting there.
