Sheriff Joe Arpaio, the sheriff of Maricopa County, Ariz., who calls himself Americas Toughest Sheriff, will endorse Texas Gov. Rick Perry next week, a source with knowledge of the endorsement told ABC News.
Arpaio espouses a hard-line stance on illegal immigration, leading raids to round up and jail illegal immigrants, and was a major proponent of the controversial Arizona immigration law. Perry has spoken with Arpaio several times over the phone since entering the presidential race.
Arpaio, a much sought after endorsement in the GOP field, plans to campaign with Perry in New Hampshire next week, the source said. The Texas governor will be in the Granite State Tuesday and Wednesday, holding three town halls and a breakfast at the Nashua Chamber of Commerce along with speaking at the New Hampshire State House...

Maybe it’s you over the top Perry haters who are the bad judges of character.
I couldn’t care less about the 1% illegal aliens who receive taxpayer funded benefits in Texas. If they want to subsidize criminals that’s their right. I will however, oppose the man who made that possible who is running for national office that affects ALL states.
Not especially, but since the Feds refuse to seal the border and the other states don’t seem interested in taking any of our illegals, we can either educate them or put them on welfare. If we put them on welfare that will be less money for us. Better to have them in the system working and paying taxes sad to say. It’s easy for you people north of the Mason Dixon line who have no clue of the reality of our border to second guess our decisions. But hey, even with the burden of supporting half of Mexico we are still doing extremely well. I don’t know anybody who is or has been out of work, nobody has watched their home’s value fall, etc. Governor Perry deserves a great deal of credit for that.
He hasn’t said he would make it the law for ALL states. He’s a staunch 10th amendment advocate.
Now, take care of your more than one percent thugs first okay.
Good for you, but last I checked Bush isn't running.
There’s a 3rd option, you can take away all the gubmint benefits until they self deport.
Never in any of my postings on FR have I ever stated that I hated Perry. If he is nominate I will vote for him. I’m just not a big fan.
Oh, I didn’t know Bush was governor of Texas in June 2001. I’m pretty sure he was in the oval office then.
Like I said, it's easy for somebody like you over a thousand miles away to make totally uninformed statements. None of them will ever willingly go back to their Mexican cesspool. Don't you read the news?
That was Moonie after his Sluggo transformation. :^)
Perry, while jogging shot and killed a coyote that was threatening his dog.
Every other candidate would have run while their dog was being eaten. Except maybe Cain. He would have been babbling 999 while the coyote killed both his dog and him.
There, even though true THAT ought to tick some keyword spammers off.
AGREED!
Okay, even if most of them they self deport (I’m sure some will), you still don’t have to give them any government cheese. Then they can *gasp* work for a living.
Joe Arpaio is expecting his posse to report in January on Obama’s eligibility. Arpaio says there is lots of “smoke,” the posse has found evidence that will “shock,” and that he is already “half convinced” that Obama is not eligible, IIRC.
Meanwhile in NH, there is an active contest over whether Obama’s name should be on the ballot...and NH is exactly where Arpaio and Perry will be next week.

Perry has already jokingly dipped his toe in “birther” waters, but quickly pulled back.
Timing is everything!
You sure spend a lot of time posting about an issue you know absolutely nothing about.
Are you seriously trying to argue that Bush signed the in state tuition bill in JUNE 2001?!
LOL
That’s an interesting tie-in, next week may be a big week for popcorn! :)
“we can either educate them or put them on welfare”
Good. Maybe they’ll educate themselves on how to make a one way trip across the Rio Grande.
As I’m sure you know most of them DO work for a living at manual labor and service jobs. They mow our yards, clean our houses, take care of our children, wash restaurant dishes, process poultry, etc. They are a huge underground economy. Anyway we’ve moved off topic — Sheriff Joe knows he and Perry are of a like mind when it comes to securing the border. When Perry gets in the White House we will finally see a serious Federal effort to secure the border.
