NAFTA has been a one-way street strengthening Mexico at the expense of the United States. Ford, Chrysler, GM and VW all build vehicles for the U.S. market in Mexico. Whirlpool builds appliances there.

Guess where Honda, which has non-union plants in the U.S. and no labor problems, is building its next “U.S. plant?”

No, it hasn’t. NAFTA put many small Mexican farms out of business. It’s the rural farmer that is typically fleeing Mexico.

Either manufactured products that are sold here need to be made here, or there should be some ability to trade production credits that there are incentives that guarantee that our production sells abroad.

Free trade is far from free. These other countries have restricted our products. We need balanced trade.

The current “free trade” boondoggle where global business can produce anywhere in the world where they can sidestep our laws, and then bring the finished or partially finished product back into that nation free of tariffs will eventually turn the 1st world into 3rd world.

These same global companies use those profits to own our politicians, thus guaranteeing that trade policy works in their interest.
