" Do you really think that if Gingrich got his wish to legalize the illegals but not give them citizenship, there would not be an immediate push to then make them citizens, because, after all, how can you deny 20 million plus residents the right to vote? "

BINGO !

That their plan, to gradually desensitize us into capitulating, for there will be mass protests and demonstration and all the ( Realitive Moralism: got to let their relitives stay here too of they been here 25 years : sarcasm ) of how we are immoral not letting them vote..

You see ? it first starts out, letting them sneak in in the first plane, and then ? " ohh well, there's 20 million of them, can't do nothing about them going back now, water under the bridge, the horses have left the barn and it's to late to close the barn door ).
Then ? " ohhh well, might as well make them citizens " .
Then ? ohh you mean heartless people, why don't you let them vote, after all, they have rights too as citizens.

You see people ? that's how it's going, going down the slippery slope.
Just like school prayer, one days someone say that prayer should be taken out of schools, then ? all religions are equal, them ? remove God or all references of God out of America... that's how the progressives do it, one step at a time gradually..

Its a lot easier to deny them the right to vote than to hunt them down, incarcerate them, prosecute them, and deport them. One function is administrative, and gets a lot of scrutiny every election. The other would require billions of dollars, raising an army, building concentration camps to hold detainees, creating a whole new court system just to handle the volume, and getting compliance with Mexico to take them back (which Mexico has fought in the past).

Denying the right to vote is fairly simple ... if resident registers to vote the state runs the list against federal records. If they are found to be a Green/Red card holder, their registration is invalidated and they are purged from the voter list. If they actually do vote and it is not found out until later, then they are prosecuted. This last year I ran a campaign, and I stopped and spoke to a lot of people who were Green card holders and they knew this implicitly. This is the way the law works now.
