Congresswoman Bachmann appears to be conveniently forgetting her own views on immigration in order to score political points. During the presidential debate at the Reagan Library on September 7, she said she won't deport all 11 million illegal immigrants here in the United States.

HARRIS: A quick 30-second rebuttal on the specific question. The fence is built, the border is under control. What do you do with 11.5 million people who are here without documents and with U.S.- born children?
BACHMANN: Well, that's right. And again, it is sequential, and it depends upon where they live, how long they have been here, if they have a criminal record. All of those things have to be taken into place.
Sounds almost identical to Newt's position that once we secure the border first, we can have a humane enforcement policy vis-a-vis some of those remaining.

So what you’re saying is that I don’t have to support Newt to get the same thing?
LOL
You forgot to put /snark at the end of that...
They all say the same thing...lol.
yep let’s forget voting next November.. they are ALL RINO’s
Ronald Reagan was the biggest RINO of them all.. he could never be nominated today
it’s over.. even Palin isn’t Conservative enough..
I knew I could count on you to supply it.
NO AMNESTY.
NO NEWT.
Putting in large font even makes it more so... Right?
Come on now... Just say it... You know you want to...
Here let me help you.
CCCCCCCCAAAAAAAAAAAIIIIIIIIIIINNNNNNNNNNNNN!
Now do you feel better?
Newt = the ultimate insider RINO leech.
Oh let’s not forget the answer to all things:
9-9-9!!!
An excellent question. It should be asked of all the candidates.
Just what do you do if and when we have true border security. Dollars to donuts that none of them would give an answer that wouldn't look to many on this forum as some form of amnesty. I think in fact we would get a very Bachmann-like answer from most of them.
I, for one, am not surprised at all by Bachmann's answer. And I've yet to hear a really good plan that does provide a workable approach to shipping 60 year old grandparents who have been here for 25 years back to Mexico. They are not going to volunteer so it would take a massive police action to find them and send them back to their original home. It just seems impractical to me and I still haven't heard a good scheme for accomplishing it.
And I'm certainly not Mr. Amnesty. I'm just probing the system looking for a practical approach to this problem.
Amnesty Newt the 666 contender,
You amnesty people are clueless. What do we do about those people already here? If you respond “deport them all” I’ll know you aren’t a serious person, just a blowhard. With all due respect.
There is a more effective approach that would sell. The aliens are coming for jobs. It's much easier to enforce the instant check of ID (which is now purposely optional). Secondly, if an employer doesn't do due diligence, impose massive fines. Strangle illegal immigration at the employer end. Along with that, allow temporary work visas, which would have a valid duration of less than one year and with no immigration path. In that way, we can still get temporary workers for some jobs. The effect of these two measures would cause the aliens to go home on their own, at their expense, and then apply for legal work.
How many times does it need to be pointed out to you we enforce the laws and let the state and local cops have all assets form illegals drivers and from employers . They will be leaving in mass while the fence is getting built.
I think we all know that there are some who will get amnesty but the real question becomes again, Who do you trust to enforce the law?
