Egyptian officials say a court has ordered the release of three American students arrested this week during the unrest in Cairo.
An Egyptian official said Thursday the three who attend the American University in Cairo were arrested on the roof of a university building near Cairos iconic Tahrir Square where they were allegedly throwing firebombs at security forces fighting with protesters.

Sorry the excerpt is so short. The article was only four paragraphs.
Incredibly lucky to be released......I have no doubts as to how liberal they are, after all, one is from I. U. a.k.a. the peoples republic of bloomington Indiana.
They’re lucky they aren’t dead.
As much as I hate to favor a Muslim government over American citizens, they should of been locked up for years. Firebombs are not mere words and they attempted murder. Worst of all they did not even have a dog in the fight to justify it.
One of them said he threw rocks from the top of the building.
Atually what would be nice is if all the OWS protestors would go there or better yet, Iran. I guess it doesn’t matter though being that they are all now becoming Iran anyway, including Libya no thanks to our Muslim in Command. “Allah Akbar, praise be to Allah! As POTUS I hereby declare victory in Egypt and Libya! The Muslim brotherhood and Sharia law will rule!”
That depends. My friends daughter recieved an internship teaching grade school in New Zealand. So nice my friend is worried she might stay there.
They should have been treated as the locals and if or when they were released they would appreciate their home country a little more.
Oh yea i need to say those 3 morons in egypt deserve what they get.
One of those punks.....the one with the scared look in his eyes....stated that he wished the violent demonstration in Cairo was happening in New York. ‘eff him.
Glenn Beck stated on his radio show the other day that he hopes these dudes “rot” over there in Egypt.
ALL Americans should be protected abroad, regardless of how stupid they are.
I wonder how much money exchanged hands?
SF author Larry Niven came out with two rules, dubbed Niven's Laws:
1) Never throw sh*t at an armed man. They are idiots. When violent protests are happening, or are expected to happen, in a foreign country (ESPECIALLY an Islamic one), the best place to be is FAR AWAY from the action. If that can't be done, take shelter in your room, or in a friend's room whose windows face away from the action.2) Never stand next to anybody who is throwing sh*t at an armed man.
Yep. We cannot allow banana republics to take American citizens prisoner, no matter what. If necessary, bring them back to the US of A, try them, and throw them in jail. If we have a treaty with a law-abiding, civilized country, then that is a matter of judgment. But that seems to be getting to be getting rarer and rarer.
Once countries get the idea they can seize American citizens and not get punished for it, then all hell will break loose. As it already is starting to do. We are indeed lucky that they agreed to give these guys back to us, and it's doubtful whether that will happen once the imams take over. Nobody respects Obama.
Hope there are legal consequences for them when they get home.
Assuming the charges of throwing fire bombs are true....
I don’t know, I used to be against these fools. But I’m reading Homage to Catalonia, and realized that George Orwell fought in the Spanish Civil War as a young man.
That’s how he learned about totalitarianism first hand.
Since Egypt released them, they should face repercussions at home especailly at their schools.
from what I’ve read these fools were caught on tape throwing molotov cocktails at military vehicles!!!
Yeah, that sounds like a smooth idea, let’s go off to Egypt for a bit of schooling and fire ball throwing???
Gots to believe egyptian jails are no picnic.
I suppose every building in Cairo has a supply of rocks on top of the building - right??
Even when they commit crimes such as attempted murder and terrorism? American troops serving America's interests under orders, yes. Americans who innocently fall afoul of a corrupt government or police authority, sure. But if the word "sovereignty" means anything in the context of our sovereignty it means the same thing vis a vis the sovereignty of other countries as well.
Thinking back to an earlier case, I'm still glad the little SOB who was defacing cars in Singapore got his a** whipped (literally) under Singaporean law, in spite of Clinton's attempts to have him spared.
