Yeah, it’s ironic that people don’t realize that the “Emancipation Proclamation” only freed the slaves in the South!

Technically at the time it was issued it didn’t free a signal slave. The proclamation was an order to compensate the property of the people Lincoln was waging war upon. With the specified direction of freeing the slave portion of that property.

As Lincoln’s imperial (and in accordance to their own definition of legal relationship treasonous) army at that time controlled no Southern property no southern slaves were freed by his proclamation.

Instead Like King George nearly 90 years earlier the proclamation was intended to help destabilize his revolutionary enemy.
