DES MOINES -- Sen. John Thune (S.D.), a conservative member of the Republican Senate leadership, will endorse presidential candidate Mitt Romney during a campaign stop here on Wednesday.

Senator Thune just lost his conservative card (if he ever had one).
Establishment supporting the Establishment...
Another RINO!
Well, they both have great hair.
Squish!
I was sorry to hear this.
The GOP Congress is scared of Newt!!
Sorry, but Newt is one of them.
He is the ultimate insider.
He is playing you, telling you what you want to hear.
Please do your research.

ABBO syndrome -- Anyone But Barack Obama
Romney is spreading the money to everyone he can possibly buy off.
Thune should go on the Tea Party list of insiders who need to go.
.
You bet they are...and they should be. No more business as usual.
Newt WAS Speaker and made enemies. He is well aware that the system can be corrupted by special interests.
Being Speaker is like herding rats (Pelosi) or elephants (Boehner) - Newt was an exceptional, productive leader then paid the price for diplomacy in that body.
Newt as a lone wolf POTUS - is their worst nightmare.
He is an insider, but if he were so much in the “in crowd” then why did his own party attempt to throw him out before the bogus “ethics” charges came up?
They’ve always looked at Newt as a bit of a loose cannon they’d rather not deal with.
I think Newt’s recent successes are due to a coalition of:
1. Tea Party types who remember that Newt was the architect of the ‘94 takeover, the balanced budget, welfare reform, and the other successes of the GOP Congress in the ‘90s. They think he’s a bit too establishment, but feel that he’s certainly better than Romney and probably more electable to the establishment than someone like Bachmann, Cain, etc.
2. Establishment types who know and understand how unpopular Romney is with the conservatives and Tea Partiers. Newt’s a bit mean and right-wing for their tastes but they can live with him.
I didn’t come up with this, I’m paraphrasing it from another Freeper last week, but it makes sense to me.
Right Newt is going to clean house. /s
