Japan has an interesting law on elections. Candidates are penalized six times the number of votes which are produced by fraudulent voting. Occasionally, this means an office holder is booted out an disqualified from future elections.

I'm not sure why six is the magic number. But the same number is used to calculate fines for people who cheat on train fares. Thus, if you get caught cheating for a 1,000 yen fare, you get fined 6,000 yen.
