I think we should let newt and perry have a knife fight to see which is the most in-favor of amnesty, there can be only one number one.

I think if we all listened closely last night most of the candidates say we will secure the border first and then decide what to do with those who are here. That is just chicken speak for what Newt had the guts to say. I am even leery of Herman’s vague working to citizenship idea which he never really fleshes out.

If you are waiting for Operation Wetback 2 you are dreaming. I have advocated rounding up all the illegals and shipping them back for years but the reality is that its never going to happen. We will probably have to identify the few as Gingrich says who can stay and then try to get as many as possible to self deport while keeping any more from coming.

I think we will all be shocked at how few will come forward. Most have no interest in becoming US citizens. Lets face it the only time you see the big protests is when the state immigration laws kick in which mostly encourage self deportation. The illegals are not out marching in the streets demanding citizenship. They are waving the Mexican flag. They just want to be able to stay here illegally and do as they please. They want amnesty not citizenship.
