I think you are letting the leftists and the MSM do your thinking for you. Is Herman Cain a perfect candidate? Of course not. Does his political inexperience render him less able to reel off policy soundbites? Sure. But what does the President actually do? What qualities make someone a good President? These are the important questions.

My point was that if Cain had put in a little time on prepping for foreign affairs he was well on the way to winning this in a walk away. Now he has let Gingrich into the mix and that is going to be a much tougher debate than Perry, who to be honest self destructed. I'm not letting the leftists do my thinking. Cain's answers last weak showed a lack of effort and prep work, period.

Cain is probably the best remaining candidate. But he had the chance to end this quickly. And with Romney's massive cash reserves and establishment backing a quick kill was essential for an insurgent victory. If this comes down to a long slog we end up with Romney, and that is a fate too horrible to imagine. Cain needs to study up, and from his performance last night appears he may have gotten the message. But the stumble let Gingrich into the race and that is going to cost him.

If we want to prevent the Romney disaster, conservatives need to get their act together. Cain needs to be flawless for the next week and hope Gingrich's stand on amnesty shuts him down.

What answers are you specifically talking about?

The polls are what they are but very soon there will be actual voting. Then we will see where Newt stands with the people who step into the voting booths in SC and FL.

I think by February 1st we will know whether Newt and Cain both have staying power, and whether Perry can get up off of the mat. Only if there are two or more evenly-matched non-Romney candidates will Mitt have a chance to outlast the conservative opposition to his candidacy.
