No, I'm suggesting that when you're on a presidential ticket you have to support your running-mate's platform, even if you disagree with important aspects of it.

So she did duty and lied to the interviewer and the American people, huh?

Show me anywhere where she has retracted anything she said during that interview and show me any quote where her current position on immigration is any different from Newt's (other than that SHE advocated a path to CITIZENSHIP, whereas Newt has indicated that these people should NEVER be given citizenship.)

Do your research and get back to me. Until then all evidence points to the fact that Sarah Palin and Newt are on the same page with this one.

The fact of the matter is that Sarah Palin is not the Xenophobe that you think she is. She is a realist and the reality is that we are not going to deport 12 million illegal aliens. She knows it. Newt knows it. Every single candidate in the field knows it.

Newt has proposed a reasonable solution.

Sarah Palin proposed the same solution.

Sarah Palin is a real conservative, and she recognizes that America is a humane nation with humane people. We have had big hearts...and that sometimes despite our tendency to shoot with the mouth sometimes before we really think out way through something.

Here’s the real truth. Anchor baby citizenship.

Those immigrants who’ve been here for a while, and who have had children and grandchildren here are not going to be separated from those families. It just isn’t going to happen. They could stay here on contantly renewed visitor visas ‘til the cows come home.

And the children can’t have their citizenship revoked. Whether or not you agree with the anchor baby laws, even IF they were some day changed, they could not BY THE CONSTITUTION apply to those who already were citizens by the anchor rules. The US Constitution prohibits ex post facto laws.

So, reality is that most illegals now have blood ties to this country. They are not going anyplace.

What makes sense is giving them some kind of guest worker visa.

Sarah Palin was the first Republican of any national significance to come out in support of SB 1070.

I'm still waiting for one of the front-runners in this presidential race to follow her lead.
