A somewhat off-topic comment.
The wildly disproportionate influence given IA, NH and other early delegate choosing states is utterly idiotic and wildly anti-democratic. Why exactly should IA eternally hold the entire country hostage on ethanol subsidies because of the date of their caucus?
Primary dates for the different states should be randomly assigned a year before they start. Mix things up a bit.
Divide the states into six units roughly equal in population and delegates. starting with the first Saturday in March hold primaries thirty days apart with the last one in August. The last day of the convention, roll a dice to determine the order of the primaries for four years out. After the first primary, subsequent dates should be thirty days and then adjusted to the nearest Saturday.
