Rep King: House Won't Defund Obamacare Because Leaders ‘Afraid' GOP Will be Blamed for Shutdown
CNS News ^ | November 21, 2011 | Pete Winn

Rep. Steve King (R-Iowa) says that Congress is not going to cut off funding for Obamacare or Planned Parenthood because House Republican leadership is afraid of the threat of a showdown with Senate Democrats and the president – they’re afraid that Republicans would be blamed for a government shutdown.

King said the House GOP leadership, if asked, would say that they did pass a repeal of Obamacare – and would blame the Senate, which didn’t take up the measure.

But King also said House Republicans “didn’t use the leverage that we should have used.”

“We didn’t bring up the maximum leverage because the decision was made by leadership to avoid the prospect of a showdown with the president or Harry Reid that could result in a potential shutdown of government,” King told CNSNews.com in an interview.

“And that rationale – and it wasn’t my rationale – is what brings us to this point -- that we’re still funding Obamacare to the tune of $23.6 billion dollars in the first two years, we’re trying to find $1.2 trillion in cuts, there’s $1.379 trillion in cuts that are there automatically if we just cut off the existing programs within Obamacare and resolve the problem with the Super-committee,” he said.

Might as well have an all-Democrat Congress for what good the vile eunuchs do.

And they all went all along with faggots in the military as well.

If the Republicans are merely the servile assistants of the Dems, what are our options?

...House Republican leadership is afraid...

We need new House leadership.

I hope we add another 60 seats next November, or at least enough to create a stronger bloc of bold Republicans.

The problem is they aren’t doing any cutting at all. None. Any so-called cuts aren’t really cuts. Or if they are, it’s infinitesimal and useless.

If they don’t start cutting, then eveyrthing will collapse sooner or later, and sooner is looking more likely than later. And then it will be much, much worse than any controlled cuts, no matter how so-called “draconian”.

I hear you and feel your pain. The problem is I just don't think people believe it. Maybe a little collapsing would be good for all of us... except it would just be blamed on the GOP and used as another "crisis" to spend more money and reduce more freedom.

It’s time to take the first logical step; DEMAND BOEHNER STEP DOWN! This worthless crying incompetent has led the GOP House down this feckless road of compromise.

It starts at the top, and for me I always thought Boehner was full of it. I remember his acting job on the Sunday that the Democrats the House forced Obamacare down our throats. Bart Stupak and his anonymous dozen had surrendered that day and pretended that Obama’s executive order to keep tax payer funded abortions from occurring.

Boehner stood on the House floor and it sure looked like he a.) pretended to be mad or b.) was ineffective. Boehner is a clown, but I guess he has a lot of clout all centered on $$$$. Take away his $$$$$ power, and the guy would be laying in a gutter somewhere crying. Remeber his chummy golf game with Obama?

SPREAD THE WORD FAR AND WIDE: BOEHNER IS THE FACE OF THE GOP IN THE HOUSE (from the most rock-ribbed conservative to the biggest RINO) CALL ON BOEHNER TO STEP DOWN AND THE CURE WILL BEGIN.

And the dems and MSM know this....it's the default operating mode of the GOP....that's why they want Romney.

backbone stiffness rating ....Mittens 1, Newt's 4, Perry's 6, Cain 7, Bachmann 10. 10 = Reagan and Palin. are the gold standard.

Yeah, it was so bad in 1996 that the voters punished the GOP by putting in two more Senators and kicking out a grand total of two House Reps from 1994. /

I mean when are the GOP(Gutless Old Pussies)head honchos going to realize it doesn’t pay to be nice to the Dems.

I don’t expect a “little” collapse.

All civilizations go through all the stages. IMHO we’re witnessing the decay of this one. The only question is how fast will it occur. And the difference with this one compared to the rest of history is that everything is globally screwed, and there is very little basic human decency or morality anywhere. Very little is produced for local needs in the industrialized “western” nations, and vast numbers depend entirely on government.

It will be very, very ugly and many people will be sorry they weren’t prepared for it.

It’s too bad the Repubs are spineless creeps.

All you have to do is drag the idea of cutting Medicare through Free Republic,

Kill all the old people that will shut them up.

That is one reason I am surprised that she is not doing better.

That is one reason I am not surprised that she is not doing better.

The RINO establishment marginalized her exactly for that reason.

After all, that 'promise' already served its purpose.

Remember how GW promised to build the fence, then after the election he had Kay defund it? It served the purpose, the GW worshippers here believed every word of it.

Why aren’t Rush and the other conservative talking heads, calling for Boehner’s head to roll?

Only Levin, and he nailed him good last Friday.

They win back the House - just to repeal Commiecare™ - and now they can’t do it? Replacements are needed.

It's creepy, and a whole lot of these career bozos need to go home and retire, counting their pieces of silver for the rest of their days.

I remember when Michele Bachmann threw her hat in the ring asking to be considered for the role of House Majority Leader. I don't know if she could have made a difference, but I absolutely believe she would have fought with all her heart to do the right thing for the American people.

I think most in the GOP could do a better job as Speaker than Boehner. Also, Cantor and McCarthy should be designated as gophers in 2013; they were weak from the get go as well. Boehner, Cantor, and McCarthy have upset the usual malcontents of the loony left as well as the conservative voters. What kind of voters are left who are supporters of these failed politicians?
