NEW YORK, Nov. 21, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- The candidates may be spending Thanksgiving in Iowa or New Hampshire instead of at home this year as the primary calendar quickly comes to an end with just six weeks until the first votes are cast. As noted last month, each month the story line seems to take a new shift, and yet again this month we have another new story with the rise of Newt Gingrich.
Among Republicans, one in five (19%) would vote for Godfather Pizza CEO Herman Cain in the GOP primary while 16% would vote for former Massachusetts Governor Mitt Romney and 15% would vote for former Speaker of the House Newt Gingrich. Other candidates are all under 10% including Rick Perry (9%), Ron Paul (5%), Michele Bachman (2%), Jon Huntsman (2%), Rick Santorum (1%) and Gary Johnson at less than 1%. Three in ten Republicans (30%), however, are still not at all sure who they would vote for in the Republican primary.

The MSM and Rino establishment are desperate. They wanted Mitt, but they’ll settle for Newt. Cain scares the pee-waddling Hell out of them.
The more they attack him, the better I like him. Cain is a great choice for America.
This is good news. Cain gets the most Republicans/Tea Party/Conservatives. Romney and Huntsman get the liberals. That should tell everyone something. If this poll is accurate it means that Cain has picked up some steam again. I think people are realizing that perfect is should not be the enemy of good. It is not every day we have a chance to really elect positive change that is credible and real and is not just another politician. Cain has that and my argument is ‘Why Not?’. Let’s see what a real businessman with private sector experience can do. Someone who had to please customers and produce a profit selling a product.
I’m with Cain. I’m not afraid of the non politician or small government conservative no matter how in a tizzy the left gets or our own GOP elite with the idea that we just might elect someone who isn’t one of them. It seems they have nearly destroyed this country. We probably have the highest concentration of highly educated people on the planet in Washington DC and they can’t do better? I don’t believe it. It is time to think outside of Washington DC.
I’m curious how many people really don’t know much about Cain. Until about 2 months ago I knew nothing except for hearing some guy named Cain was running and he had something to do wirh Pizza.
I suspect there are lots that really don’t know much about Cain except what they’ve been spoon fed by a biased media. As Cain travels and speaks in more states, his numbers will grow.
I’m still undecided, but Cain is not going to be my choice. His fear of being videotaped at a meeting in NH, or arguing over whether it should be 45 minutes or 60 minutes, and being proud about not being a reader? No thanks.
When did the party of Buckley become so proudly anti-intellectual? Anti-pointy-headed-university-bots, sure, but if we don’t champion reading and intellectual pursuits, we’re doomed.
Today I heard that a recent poll in NH put Newt and Romney each around 25%, Cain in the teens and everyone else even lower.

I suspect that Buckley would be thrilled to have a real life rocket scientist running for president.

What he was saying is that he somehow just has this leadership ability and doesn't need to be bothered with pesky details (as if anyone said he has to know all the operational details). Nothing to do with Teleprompters.
Of course he is a smart man. I just don't know if he's an intelligent one. Obama, for example, seems to have all sorts of book learnin' but he is not intelligent. I've had enough of that, and just because Cain may have some of my moral point of view, that isn't the bottom line. The guy can't think on his fee--I've seen enough footage of him to decide that. If he says 9-9-9 one more time I'm gonna kick the TV in, and he seems popular now mostly because he's being attacked by people we hate. That's not enough to make him a good president.
I certainly didn't make up my mind about him over one video clip, but it is indicative of many other things.
And his cancelling the interview because it would be videotaped? If he can't stand up to some NH newspaper, he's not fit for the job. I'm sick of candidates whose every comment has to be followed by someone saying "What he meant was..."

I think Newt is smarter than he is but Cain is definitely well above average.

I just hope that the primary vote is not split between them in such a way that Mitt Witt wins with 25-30% ...God save us from the likes of Mitt.
Considering the butchery performed when Katie Couric (granted, a hostile interviewer) interviewed Sarah Palin, it would not take much to use the material to harm Cain, just careful editing.
Why bother, when the idea has been to speak with people, not necessarily give someone else--anyone else--control over what comes out or how.

When so many intellectuals have become nothing more than overcredentialled idiots, waving their sheepskins while they make decisions and pronouncements which are contrary to common sense.
This is, of course, a product of the Liberal takeover of the university system, and frankly, the disdain many reserve for the intellectual elites is something they have brought upon themselves.
That isn't saying there aren't intelligent and credentialled conservative folks, but they seldom get any airtime.
Since most people get their exposure to intellectual circles from TV, and most of the intellectuals on TV are Liberals, it is natural that people are suspicious or disdainful of those whom they view as 'educated idiots' at best.
First slur and smear him with a bunch of skanks brought out from the shadows 15 years later after the fact who incidentially fled just as quickly as they arrived on the scene with their character assassination-attempt pot shots, then the MEDIA into overdrive as if this had somehow mortally wounded his campaign, (doubts, further doubts, phony polls, etc) then the nitshitpicking of every single quote and trying to gaffe-e-size every single thing the poor man Herman Cain says, AND HE IS STILL STANDING AND NOT ONLY THAT SHOWING SIGNS OF A REBOUND IN SOME STATES.
They have only one other way to stop him now from the Presidency-whatever dirt they have searched for, they have found it entirely and used it and shot their wad--but that's all there is folks, and this is why he is in my prayers. Of ALL the GOP candidates, THIS ONE, BROTHER HERMAN CAIN, REPRESENTS THE CLEAREST THREAT TO THE ELITE AMERICAN POWER HELD BY SOME PRETTY SERIOUS, NO-NONSENSE PEOPLE WHO DO NOT HAVE THE BEST INTERESTS OF OUR COUNTRY AT HEART.
I know by now truly who they hate the most. And that is who I LIKE the most. Simple as that. The American Media and Establishment showed their cards as to what they think about Herman Cain a long time ago. They should have kept their negative opinions to themselves...now we know who they fear the most. This is who, in my opinion, we should coalesce behind as the a) anti-Romney stalking horse, and b) anti-Obama stalking horse. It could happen. It could happen. It would be HISTORY.

I’m sick of having politicians read speeches they did not write. How long has it been since we’ve had a candidate that not only delivers a speech but has written it himself?
Cain does both, and does both very well.
