IBTZ.
Excellent article! Thanks!
You brief spittlefest at FR indicates you will probably vote for any democrat the DNC puts on the ballot.
So Cain is now compared to Churchill, Einstein, Lincoln, and Reagan? Really?
Put liberal/press perceptions and prognostications aside, how does Cain compare to Carter (who is also mentioned in the article)?
As for an argument in favor of Cain, this article is pretty thin gruel (perhaps that’s why it’s an article from a reader published in a section for publishing amateur’s material). Cain’s the guy because he has an interesting story, a bachelors, and a master degree (no Ph.D.) - all of which makes for a serviceable comparisons between Cain and the greats listed above.
Still not convinced? For the piece de resistance, the mother of all arguments for Cain, the author notes: “Cain said he has no friends in Washington.”
Sounds like an excellent qualification to me.
By this point in time, anyone who has decided against Cain will not be convinced otherwise regardless of what's said, so I am not going to try.
I will, however, state that most of the super intelligent people I know, including one associate who has two doctorates, are some of the freakiest anti-social weirdos I know.
This time around, I want a President with common sense. It appears to be a much rarer quality.
So is the quality of a well rounded life experience. Mr. Cain has a rich life experience. He has been poor and he has been affluent. He has a proven record in the sciences, business and the Christian clergy. He is a family man. He has excelled at all his varied endeavors.
All of which have added to the foundations that make him a rich source of common sense.
IBTZ!!!
Good point.
Don’t forget that Cain has also honed his speaking ability through radio and will be able to articulate his principles to the people. He’s a great communicator compared to bush or perry. And he isn’t patronizing lime Obama or Romney. He’s straight, real, and bold. Not perfect. But we don’t need perfect right now. We need Cain. He’s more trustworthy than newt.
Excellent post.

Overbite smell like barbarians. Get it out, the Octopus
If I may. Any of three thousand FReepers could bring Cain up to speed with the world situation in a week long course.
The man is genuine, he knows what businesses need to do to succeed, he knows at the small business and franchise level how things work.
Who’s the president of Kazakhstan? Who the ... knows? All I’d tell Mr. Cain is to call the leaders up and ask them how they’d like things to be and how to get there.
He can sort out the good from the bad. Strangely that is the critical quality I look for in a leader.
He’s obviously and actually a brilliant man complete with a sense of humor and for you to hit on him for a brain fart running on 4 hours sleep in a non-stop campaign with lawyers and America questioning your moral base - I’m sure you wouldn’t miss a beat.
Oh wait, that’s not an actual bet. I wouldn’t take your house, boat, wife or whatever. It wouldn’t be fair. ;-)
Just so you know the MSM is pretty much pushing Mitt for the candidate they know they can hammer mercilessly on his flip-flopping, his statist uhbama lite, his religion, etc until he’s just a puddle of goo. Obama wins.
Cain is is the real deal. Don’t worry - he and the right people can deal with it.
Of course, he’d probably want Ron Paul for Treasury, Bolton for State, Palin for VP, no one for Education, Commerce, DOE, BATF, (since they won’t exist), who knows.
The thing that most strikes me about Cain is his humanity and intelligence. Two qualities sadly lacking currently at our nation’s center.
Or we could go with more of the same with Mitt, Newt, Rick, Obama’s ambassador to China, Ms. B (fine but unelectable), etc.
Oops - sorry to go on - just collecting the laptop off the porch - maybe somethings for you to consider. IMHO.
Nite. ;-)
