What on earth are you trying to say? Just say it. I mean, what language are you speaking?

I would humbly submit that the “Language” Mr. B is speaking, is...”military.” I think he was referring to the fact that if society breaks down, that a 22 year old, would have the vigor to stand a watch (or simply, “stand watch”) (”a watch” meaning period of time that a guardsman guards, say 4 hours, or whatever in your case), and be able to guard you. Hence, he is saying that you have one more person to help you remain secure in your household. Hope that helps!
