Smart move? Or no?
Good move. They won’t be able to manipulate what he says.
They don’t need video.
While he’s on a roll... Why not go down there and tell the Des Moines Register to F’off while he’s at it. That would make it complete...
good call by Cain, he is dealing with the enemy here.
Like the man said: Shucky ducky!
Mr. Media Indignation obviously missed the Cain / Gingrich forum in Texas. How did their interview with Romney go?
Why are you asking? Looks like you have already posted what you think over and over to yourself, eh?
Given the history of “News media” selectively editing video, this is a smart move. Look at the way CBS played with the video of Sarah Palin in 2008 to make her look stupid.
As Rush Limbaugh pointed out, after being ambushed with selectively edited video released by the Editorial board in Milwaukee it would be dumb for Cain’s camp to have this taped.
They should have made that the campaign policy the day before Milwaukee and not a week after.
Commie editorial boards are a trap for the conservative candidates. It was stupid for Herman to even consider doing an interview, let alone on TV. ALL conservatives should say NO to editorial board entrapment.
I am really, really, REALLY worried about what a union leader thinks! NOT.
This is the same once conservative Union Leader that endorsed McCain in the GOP primary in 2008.
Smile! You’re on Candid Camera!
Smart move? Or no?”
No. You don’t avoid job interviews because they are too long or too hard or might have gotcha questions. You know this shit or you don’t. This avoidance crap is how we ended up with Zero. The media can’t destroy you on stuff you know cold. They destroy you on stuff you DON’T know, but should.
I haven’t seen anyone destroy Newt in an interview on foreign policy and you haven’t either.
This isn’t good for Herman. His response needed to be, “Get the whole thing on video if you want, and I will do likewise with my own videotapers.” The key is to make sure you have your own video of the interview so the newsroom can’t do a hack edit job leaving you with no recourse.
My Grandmother used to say in response to: “But Gram, everyone else does it,”... “Well, if everyone else jumps off the High Level Bridge, are you going to jump too?”
It was a smart move. Cain has finally woke up to the fact that the media is no longer interested in reporting the facts. Instead they want to make up a story.
I see the decision as being savvy and well reasoned.
I thought I read somewhere that his campaign was going to film them, he just wasn’t going to allow the media to do this. Frankly, I wish they’d all do this. Any time any of them can make hay out of a candidate’s statements or interviews. Cain’s statement about foreign policy the other day was reported as he wasn’t supposed to know “anything” about foreign policy but he actually said he wasn’t supposed to know “everything” about foreign policy. Huge difference. I don’t think ANY of our candidates should trust the media as far as they can spit them.
Look how Perry was crucified at the domestic policy debate. He had very intelligent answers to the questions he was asked. Then he had a brain fart. No one heard anything about any of his responses except that. Of course those kinds of things will be reported but a responsible press (an oxymoron, I know) would have said something acknowledging his improvement and knowledge of the issues. It’s like Cain’s Libya interview. He actually got it right and the interview was 20 minutes long. The pause sounded bad, yes, but when you hear the questions before that (basically asking the same question in rapid succession about 0bama & Bush) you realize he was trying to clarify whether they wanted him to discuss 0bama’s handling of it.
About the only one this wouldn’t happen to, I’d guess, is Newt. If this was a debate club he’d be king. Well, and Romney because they just assume he’ll be the nominee (after they supposedly drive us away from the true conservatives). I think that’s why supporters of Perry & Cain are sticking with their candidates. It’s time to stop letting them get away with it anymore. Our candidate MUST be Cain, Newt or Perry. The others simply can’t win against 0bama and I doubt they’ll get any traction now. If we can’t get one of those three the nomination then we’ll be in real trouble here.
Anytime one of our candidates decides to NOT give the press the upper hand, good for them.

More interesting was that he tried to cut the interview from 1 hour to 20 minutes — most candidates are clamoring for more time to give their views, not less time. Candidates don’t usually like sound bite answers, and like the newspaper interviews because they are longer.
This plays into the perception that Cain can’t actually answer questions in depth enough for a 1-hour interview. Of course, he ended up not doing the interview at all.
They can take their “union” and shove it their collective smelly Obamas.
And stay there.
During that video about Libya fumble, I have not seen any of the part where Cain gave excellent responses to questions. They picked out the only part which was embarrassing and put it up on youtube. Screw the media. Go straight to the people.
And as I have posted again and again, major issues are 22 million unemployed, millions of foreclosures, exploding deficits and national debt, rocketing cost of healthcare made worse by Obamacare etc. Libya is just a small pimple on the elephants a$$.
ANYTHING that ANYONE can or will do to infuriate UNION MEMBERS is all right with me.
