The LDS Church is politically neutral, as is MDL. Mormons hold elected office and positions of responsibility in both US political parties and various parties worldwide. When we respond to any issue regarding politics, we do so only to correct misinformation and misperceptions about the Church, not in an effort to promote a particular candidate or party.
Recently, Politico reported that part of President Obamas 2012 reelection campaign strategy will be to portray Mitt Romney, a Mormon and possible Republican presidential nominee, as weird. The Politico report did not specifically tie the weird charge to Romneys Mormon faith, but many commentators have speculated that is the logical application of such a strategy.
Commentators from various political perspectives have also condemned any such strategy. Blogger Jane Hamsher wrote: To preach religious tolerance as Obama does, and then engage in this kind of appeal to religious bigotry, is both hypocritical and pernicious, not to mention self-defeating
As the economy gets worse, people better be really careful about stoking tribalist rage against any minority. Researcher and author Glenn Stanton agreed: Yes, you can be pretty sure that it will be his Mormon faith where most of the weirdness innuendos will land. And this from a president who had to finally and reluctantly distance himself from his own faith heritage. Former presidential speechwriter David Frum noted: The attacks will tiptoe up to the line of outright anti-Mormon bigotry. In Time, political reporter Michael Crowley summed it up: Youd like to think that the people who work for a man who has been slurred countless times because of his race would take a higher road.

You keep saying that but mormons vote for Romney at 94%, Hatch and Reid a majority - conservative - NOT.
So, you believe that 99% of this site is in bed with Obama because they oppose Romney? Why are you even here then? It is obvious you abandoned your pro-life activism by jumping in bed with Romney so why stay on a pro-life site?
Yep.
When you set a premise.....
“Obama’s strategy. It seems to be working quite well around here. We Mormons have been called a lot worse than “weird” here. “
...expect a response...
If everyone wants to see something funny, check this thread out.

Ms. Sandra was all up on defending and supporting Romney, just like this thread, until Jim came on the thread and told what he thought of Romney and suddenly Ms. Sandra is all “oh no, I like Cain..”
Hmmmm.... flip flopping...
Where have I seen that before......?? /s
Ronald Reagan also must have been deceived when he hired 16 Mormons as assistants and a large part of his cabinet.
He found Mormons to be honest, loyal, hardworking, etc.
You do remember the Reagan Administration??
Have you seen her Marry Me Mitt video?

LOL!
I am a nonMormon who would happily support Glenn Beck or Bay Buchanan for president. But if Mormons keep throwing Udalls and Huntsmen and Romneys my way... No Sale.
I am sure that there are Mormons who are EMBARRASSED by Romney, just as I am embarrassed by Kennedy and Pelosi. Be upfront about it, admit that Mitt is a hypocritical lib, and promote Mormons who support FR values. If you wil not admit that Romney is such, why should you be treated differently than a proBloomburg Jew or a ProPelosi Catholic?
So?
Those were Ezra Taft Benson Mormons from the time God(s) was an honest patriotic type....The God(s) of the offshoot LDS sect of mormonism has "Eternally Progressed" into Harry Reid Marxism today.
Mormons will hire with the mormons being chosen first. Nothing new about that. Just spend some time in some of the mormon communities in UT, AZ, CO, WY.
When a mormon like Harry Reid or Mitt Romney claims to be a "temple recommend holder" It means they have been through the investigation process and survived the scrutiny by God(s) himself ! They literally teach thier temples are where God(s) hang out and judge members to only let the righteous enter his presence. They teach if you don't have the recommend at the second coming, you cannot enter heaven....Really !
They cannot question Reid's works or righteousness without questioning the "discernment" of God(s) him(them)self(ves) !
Woot! Thank you for your support Peach. It really means a lot. And it isn’t that people aren’t paying attention, most know what we post and don’t feel the need to respond on forum.
I get many Freepmails about things I post. And we have no idea about the lurkers.
She wasn’t a Mormon in 1998. Back then she was a conservative. Now she is a Mitt supporter. Doesn’t it make you wonder what caused her to abandon her conservatism?
Bingo!
Wow. You think she’d yield more to those of us who grew up in Utah and have decades more first hand knowledge of cult abuse in our resumes.
She’s as brainwashed as they come. Even JimRob wonders what happened to her - she was once such a staunch conservative!
Saundra, if it's a little pride keeping you from investigating...You know, fear of a smart lady making such a horrendous mistake at a time in your life you should have known better, just let it go.
These leaders are THE MASTERS of deception. Christ will forgive you, and so will we.
Open your eyes, be free.
Oh, she will never actually dialog with any of us ex-mormons. We’re evil doncha know! We are to be avoided at all costs.
