It is laughable that with multiple candidates hovering around 20% they keep claiming they have found the one. Headlines should be saying things like it is a long race with multiple candidates in the hunt. Someone needs to watch a 10K or similar race where it is not until 1/3 of the way into the race that things start to shake out and it is not until the last 1/3 that you have any degree of confidence of who is the front runners. We are about 1/3 into this election cycle and it is clear that Romney, Cain, Newt and Perry are well positioned. However two weeks ago Newt was lumped with Ron Paul and Bachmann...plenty of time for things to still change...Romney has been running a steady pace, Bachman sprinted to the lead at the beginning of a long race and is now trailing the pack, Cain got out of the gate slow and was way back of the pack and finally broke free in a sprint of excitement and then stumbled and slowed over rough pavement and is struggling to get into a steady rhythm now, Perry...well Perry just keeps sprinting, tripping and walking...to early to tell whether one of these trips will put him out of the race or if he will recover, settle down, break into a nice stride and make it through this middle third of the race. Newt is out clear and running on the outside, can he keep up this pace or will the past catch up to him and bring him to uneven ground that will cause him to break stride.
