Actually this is good news for Newt. If George Will hates him he must be doing something right.

Will and Newt are both posers.
Neither is really conservative.
Both are little more than opportunist insiders.

I agree with that assessment. If you recall, Will went out of his way not to support Reagan in ‘80 until the last minute. He was a Howard Baker guy for crying out loud.

From the same site: Paul Krugman, George Will, Megan McCain, and Jay Leno don’t like Newt.
I consider that to be all positive for Newt.

Interesting cartoon. Mother Jones? When did Conservatives frown on making non-lobbying money by establishing a firm that represents all comers who pay their fees and proceed legally? Are we buying into the anti-free marketplace of ideas now? George Will is getting to you, huh?

They all on FR now?
A lot of the posters here don’t seem to want to win this election, either.

Did you read what he said about Newt? Do you have a response? Will gave a devastating, and wholly accurate, rendition of Newt’s big government record. As to historian, well I suppose....a “historian” who couldn’t get tenure at a third rate college.
To: BigBobber
I consider that to be all positive for Newt. And Will's critique of Newt's big government record (support for ethanol subsidies, etc.) is wrong because.....?

You're right, George, Newt's not an historian - look at his degrees - looks like a plumber to me =
Gingrich pursued higher education....He received a B.A. in history from Emory University in Atlanta ...in 1965...a M.A. in 1968, and a PhD in modern European history from Tulane University in New Orleans in 1971. ... Gingrich worked early on in academia, as an assistant professor of history and geography at West Georgia College....years later, in 1993, he taught a class, Renewing American Civilization, at Kennesaw State College in Georgia.[18]
Yep - obviously no historian...
