To: Servant of the Cross

I don’t believe Newt’s rise is due to Cain’s fall in popularity. Rather it is because of Newt’s debate performances. It is obvious that given the chance he will demolish Obama, as sure as Hercules can kick Tinker Bell’s little round fanny.
Also, after reasonable people notice his debate performances, they look at his experience and it reinforces their approval.
Cain has no government experience to reinforce a good opinion of him.

It's definitely about his debate performances. The defense that I would give to support my thesis is that Newt has had great debates from the get-go. However, he has ONLY moved up in the polls after the faltering of Bachmann, Perry and now Herman Cain. Last man standing.
