You make some great points. In the past, when I’ve made those same points, i’ve been hit with all kinds of derision and questioning of my real “hidden” agenda. The Freepanoia syndrome.

I think I´m voting for Santorum in the CA primary, useless as it is by the time it gets to us.

>> So standard Newt supporter SOP: Diversion, obfuscation and personal attack. >>
Are you 14? 12? Wow you argue like a spoiled child.
Your question was flawed and I answered it very completely anyway. You can’t answer a flawed question without pointing out the flaws.
And “standard Newt supporter?” You are so stupid. I’m primarily a supporter of Cain but taking a look at Newt and Perry. By the way, one could say that “Cain is primarily a supporter of Cain but taking a look at Newt” as well. I have done some writing FOR the man. He and I are 57 thousand words into a book (that has been put to the side due to his campaign success). I still email back and forth a couple times a week. I don’t make that very public, but your foolish naivety and ignorance is ticking me off because you are so cock sure of stuff that is damned wrong!!!!!
Like Cain, there are things about Newt I like - and your attacks on him are childish. Your ideas are foolish. Your attitude is counter productive.
There is no way to be intellectually honest and be very much in favor of Cain and very much opposed to Newt - or vice versa.
So I applaud your decision to back Cain, but find very little other intellectual coherence in anything you’ve said.

I see don’t ask tough questions just worship at the shrine.
No thanks.
I have seen too many self inflicted political defeats and too many GOP Pyrrhic victories produced by the GOP Establishment to be seduced yet again with the same old siren song the GOP sings to Conservatives every election year.
Doesn’t matter if you GOPbots win in 2012 if all that victory produces is more of the same gutless, inept political inaction we are seeing from the GOP in DC now

Why in the world do you think nominating the one candidate the 0 Campaign PR machine can credibly paint as part of the DC Establishment in the minds of independent voters is going to work?
With the vast majority of Americans angry at professional politicians of both parties, why would you want to nominate the one candidate an incumbent President can position himself as the outsider against?
As has been pointed out, your question is absurd to begin with. Obama and his administration painting someone else as the "insider"? Are you kidding? For Obama to try that, he would be lobbing an underhand softball for Newt to slam into the next decade. You really think Obama is going to go after Newt for Fannie/Freddie? Again, are you kidding? Newt can say "I advised them they were giving loans that would never be re-paid, while Obama wanted them to keep giving the loans, and look at the mess it created!"
Newt can say "was I an 'insider' as the Speaker of the House when the Republican Revolution forced a democratic President to balance the budget and welfare bill? We turned the democrats status quo upside down, and we will do it again!".
The LAST thing Obama wants is to remind voters of what Newt and the Republican Revolution (with Newt's first Contract) accomplished the last time Newt held office in DC, but it would sure give Newt a great opportunity to say "if you liked the last Contract, take a look at the new one".
And Cain will be right there cheering him on.
Please, PLEASE tell me you are really an Obama campaign strategist.

I don’t believe Newt’s rise is due to Cain’s fall in popularity. Rather it is because of Newt’s debate performances. It is obvious that given the chance he will demolish Obama, as sure as Hercules can kick Tinker Bell’s little round fanny.
Also, after reasonable people notice his debate performances, they look at his experience and it reinforces their approval.
Cain has no government experience to reinforce a good opinion of him.

There are just some people that you can’t reach. Logic and reason escapes them.
But it does bring to mind other realities that I’ve pondered many times...
I suspect you could put a ham sandwich on that stage, put a tie on it, and a nice banner behind it and it would poll at 1%. And that support wouldn’t just be a protest vote (re. vote for “None of the Above” - what movie was that?). That ham sandwich would have a serious die-hard, almost cult like, following.
Ralph Nader comes to mind. Paul will not be the nominee and at times I see his following in a similar light. To be fair to the Paulites, there are a few things about Paul to like...

So far, the debates have been one big series of hits/slams against the other candidates.
The exception, and a glaring exception is Gingrich. He has baggage, most of which is either lies or overblown rhetoric.
Sure he has baggage. Which of the candidates doesn't. We don't need to hear it over and over. What the debates are doing is allowing the major media to pick sound bites to hammer each candidate when the purpose should be to compare a candidate to the failures of the Obama admin.
Good lord. Our worst candidate on his/her worst day is 1000% better than 0 on his best day!
Michele, STFU and stick to issues! Same to Paul, Perry, Romney and Cain (although he has not spent much time badmouthing the rest except Romney and he is fair game).

Yes I know. Don’t bother the Newt camp with facts it merely annoys them. They would rather mindlessly worship at the shrine of St Newt then spend any time thinking about the facts.

I see. So when your hysterical rant about Newt's little "8%" bump is proven to be idiotic and laughable, you try the "don't look there, ladies and gentlemen...look what's in my OTHER hand!" mis-direction? LOL
A good illusionist is MUCH more subtle than your lame attempt, but hey, I've got time to kill, keep the entertainment coming!

Again, your questions were answered, and since you didn't like the answers you act like a child. Nobody here is saying Newt is a saint, but if you need to build some strawmen to make that argument, you better get busy rounding up some more hay.

Oh, and one more thing. When Cain strongly endorses Newt and campaigns for him, will you accuse dear Herman of “mindlessly worshipping at the shrine of St Newt?”

MNJ, you have now reached the status of Pyton's Black "It's only a flesh wound" Knight.
CEW's post #97 answers all of your "questions". There is no PR cult of personality around Newt, manufactured or otherwise. He is simply a potential "last man standing" who can beat both Romney and then zer0, which is the objective.
