CNN Hosts GOP Debate on National Security from Washington, DC

CNN lead political anchor Wolf Blitzer will moderate a Republican presidential debate on Tuesday, Nov. 22 from 8 p.m. to 10 p.m. (ET) live from the historic DAR Constitution Hall in Washington, D.C. The debate, in partnership with The Heritage Foundation and the American Enterprise Institute (AEI), will focus on three of the most critical issues candidates will encounter during the Republican presidential nomination: national security, foreign policy and the economy. The debate falls on the eve of the deadline for the so-called congressional super committee to create a plan for at least $1.2 trillion in deficit reduction.

You think it will be a “gotcha” by CNN?

Oh definitely, absolutely, positively, undoubtedly, completely, totally, incontestably, certainly, assuredly, indubitably not. It might interfere with the CNN hosts' ability to walk on water.

As awful as it sounds, the most anti-conservative pundit on CNN has been David Frum, not Paul Begala or Donna Brazile. Frum literally foams at the mouth whenever someone suggests any candidate not named Mitt Romney. He especially hates Herman Cain. Gloria Borger is really awful as well, promoting Romney at the expense of the others.

Netizen, it was awesome. Get the link and watch or listen to it. The candidates were not as stilted or formal. I felt I saw a lot more of the real person. I cried, even. The link is on the thread(s) about the debate today.

The last national security debate was very clarifying for me. Convinced me beyond any doubt that I would not vote for Newt. I had been trying to talk myself into it. No thanks.

Video: Watch the full Iowa Thanksgiving Family Forum

Saturday afternoon, six GOP candidates participated in the Thanksgiving Family Forum which focused primarily on social issues surrounding the 2012 election. The forum was sponsored by The Family Leader and took place at the First Federated Church in Des Moines, Iowa.

Mitt Romney and Jon Huntsman were also invited, however, both declined to attend.

Original Event Date: Saturday, November 19, 2011

Participants: Bachmann, Cain, Gingrich, Paul, Perry, Santorum

Here is the entire video of the forum, moderated by pollster Frank Luntz. The actual candidate forum begins at about 30 minutes in if you jump ahead.

[The first 4 and a half minutes is a Christian song video. The song is good and the photographs will touch you]

"CNN lead political anchor Wolf Blitzer will moderate a Republican presidential debate"

WHY do Republican Candidates even participate in these Lynchings, where talking points from the DNC are read, then the Candidate is forced to answer "Do you STILL beat your wife"-type questions?

The BEST that Republican Candidates could do in these "ENTRAPMENT ZONES" is to dodge bullets....

A REAL Debate in a neutral setting would be what would allow for OPEN discussion of positions.

How would The Messiah do (other than with Black voters), in a Debate without a Teleprompter to read pre-written speeches/answers from, where Conservatives were allowed to ask un-scripted questions?

Yes, Donna Brazile is actually one of the easier of the liberal pundits to listen to. She’s open about her own politics and she can give a worthy conservative his or her due. E.g., she’s spoken admiringly of Gov. Palin’s political skill for some time.

Role back the Patriot Act. We don't need it anymore.

That would put a few of the Republicans into "stammering" mode.
