Don't know about all of you, but this is excessive and unnecessary police brutality.

Don't care who the protestors are--I take a back seat to no one here on conservative principles.

We have reached a new low in the relationship between peaceful protest and the state when police feel they can spray peaceful protestors like insects.

Again, I don't give a crap about some of their views, but this is just plain wrong.

I think this was pretty funny how he just sprays them like he is trying to fumigate the place. LOL

This proves that pepper spay is totally worthless and gives people false sense of security. Imagine if you were being attacked by a criminal. This liberal woman on FOX was saying that women carrying guns to protect themselves was bad. She said women can fight back and use pepper spray instead.

Ninth Circuit (California) ruling:

"In the context of police canines, this court has explained that “no particularized case law is necessary for a deputy to know that excessive force has been used when a deputy sics a canine on a handcuffed arrestee who has fully surrendered and is completely under control.”  Mendoza v. Block, 27 F.3d 1357, 1362 (9th Cir.1994);  Watkins v. City of Oakland, 145 F.3d 1087, 1093 (9th Cir.1998).   The same principle is applicable to the use of pepper spray as a weapon:  the use of such weapons (e.g., pepper sprays;  police dogs) may be reasonable as a general policy to bring an arrestee under control, but in a situation in which an arrestee surrenders and is rendered helpless, any reasonable officer would know that a continued use of the weapon or a refusal without cause to alleviate its harmful effects constitutes excessive force..."

I don't think I would call it brutality but it did seem unnecessary and tactically ignorant.

I'll take it as instructive, at least of that police force. They act rashly and arrogantly. They lost sight of their goals and lost strategic advantage. They seemed very frightened of a bunch of loud mouthed cream puffs.

If it ever comes to facing off with some serious people who have legitimate grievances their lack of discipline and tactical know how will make that bunch fold up like a cheap suit.

And as long as they keep voting Democrat, they will get rising fees for Colleges, while the Law enforcement officers’s pay scales are protected. In the end, they will get just that-overzealous cops trying to defend a system that heavily bribes them to defend it.

Probably a mixture of frustration led to this action today and no college students are not always pleasant or peaceful and some them can get either violent or will deliberately start a fight.

At such this isn’t totally unexpected.Otherwise if this goes on,this will rip the left apart.

Notice that none of the stories about this incident say anything about what the "protesters" were doing. The pictures look as if they are blocking a public sidewalk or other right of way. If the police told them to move, and "read them the riot act", then non-lethal force is completely appropriate.

Of course in the old days, they'd have use night sticks or "asp" type batons. Today, they might use stun guns rather than pepper spray. But pepper spray is safer.

The dopes have nothing real to protest so they must create a scenario...”You used unnecessary force to stop me from acting like a stupid protester with nothing real to protest. Now I have something real to protest about...pepper spray in my eyes”!

See how it works folks?

Brutality ? They are lucky to be doing their little stunts in California USA . Try to pull that nonsense in Damascus Syria or Riyadh Saudi Arabia or Tehran Iran. Also pepper spray while unpleasant is not nearly as painful or permanent as a bullet in the back of the head .

The are also lucky that the advent of less lethal weapons ,late 19th century till the 1920’s what was the standard riot control tactic ? Small arms fire & for effect ie shoot the mob to break up the mob.

The college kids are playing stupid games & they win stupid prizes.
