Online Furor After Police Pepper-Spray Demonstrators at UC Davis
TIME Magazine ^ | 11/19/2011 | Nick Carbone

A non-violent protest at UC Davis turned chaotic Friday afternoon as police pepper-sprayed a group of students sitting on the ground. Videos shot at the scene show a policeman walking up to the protesters, pulling out his can of pepper spray to display to the crowd, and liberally sweeping the protesters with the stinging substance. Many students had their heads down, but at least one demonstrator was hit in the face. Other officers then followed suit, spraying many of the Occupiers who appeared to be sitting in a circle with their arms linked. By midday Saturday, videos of the showdown were circulating the Internet.

So, basically, a theoretical zot, or existential zot, or somethin’.

More like a metazot. The poster has been obliterated, so it goes beyond mere zotting.

Most FReepers who read its posts were pleased to dance in its ashes.

Viking Kitties ate its yummy guts long ago.

It was *very* thorough — the zot went back in time as well, and all that’s left of the zottee is a line of footprints in Laotoli.

#4 Thank God for your wife, she must be terrified when your working around the house...:O)

I forgot to add the time I almost cut off my left ring finger with a hedge trimmer, about 3 months before our first daughter was born. :) But just went to the ER, got sewn up by a corpsman (USAF) and was fine... well it doesn't like cold weather, and still feels a little "funny" when I touch it. It lost some nerves as well as meat and I can still see the spot that lost the meat, 37 years later. :) I wasn't working when I tripped, just trying to get ready to go to the office, and the reason I couldn't catch myself was that I was in the "sewing room" (and computer room at the time) and did not want to break something. Now it's even more crowded, but there are no computers... aside from the ones in the sewing/quilting equipment. :)

even my dog wouldn’t know, she’s deaf

Reminds me of what I was just telling #1 granddaughter about my San Antonio neighbor. She was deaf and a graduate of Gallaudet University. She bought a dog, a Boston Terrier, which she hoped would be able to alert her if someone was at the door.. but the dog turned out to be deaf too. :) She had a flashing light system for the doorbell and for her phone. Oh you poor thing, why can't I stop laughing. :O) granny rule #5 for you. Sit in a chair until you die from natural causes.

Followed by your poor neighbor with a deaf dog for help..OMG my stomach hurts from laughing. My dog is also going blind in one eye. When she walks into walls I'll take her to the vet..cataracts and found out there is nothing much with dogs that they can do...

My cataracts are getting bad and I wonder if my eye doctor would do my dogs. One can always hope....GG.. Give your wife a hug for me...bless her heart..:O)
