But it's a little deeper than that. Take a step back, understand why Republican voters are responding to Newt now, as opposed to a month ago, six weeks, two months ago. I mean Newt's been in the race since it began. Why now? Why now is Newt Gingrich at the top of the heap in Iowa and in some national polls as well? Why? We are three years into Barack Obama's war on prosperity and I think Americans are coming to grips with the upside, if not the necessity, of limited government. And now that people understand or are beginning to understand the deceit that is liberalism, including its standard-bearer, Barack Hussein Obama, mmm, mmm, mmm, they're looking for somebody to clearly articulate a way out, and they want to hear it said with strength and passion and power and intelligence.

Forget Newt, Cain is our man
I've said all along it's a pathetically weak field. The conservative/tea party based failed to put up a quality candidate. Hell, they almost insist on candidates lacking a solid record and background these says.
The establishment also failed to put up a clear choice. Romney is the best they could do. So who's the best of them? I have no idea. I do think at this point it will come down to Newt or Romney, and that is far from a clear choice, imo.
Just out of curiosity, who are you supporting?
I've not trashed talked talked down any candidate other than Mitt Romney and Ron Paul, and I've been doing that since the last election cycle because Romney is the only candidate with a completely liberal record, and Paul is borderline insane (but right on many issues).
RE: Guess we are only helping the enemy when we ask tough questions about your St Newt hmm?
My St. Newt? That's interesting since I support Herman Cain. Have been since the day he announced. I would like to see a Cain/Newt ticket though. The only two GOP candidates I might not be able to bring myself to vote for would be Mitt Romney or Ron Paul. I'd have to think long and hard in those two cases.
This is an old cartoon, so don't forget the "Pro-Communist Health Care" and "Anti-Communist Health Care" podiums:
Johnnie, Cain is out of it now. It’s over.
