NOVEMBER 18, 2011 Cains Knowledge-Deficit Disorder He is running for president knowing little about major matters of public import.
Poor Rick Perry. His brain freeze is indelible, otherwise it would forever be eclipsed by Herman Cains more cringe-inducing meanderings on Libya.
At a meeting with the editors of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, Cain was asked whether he agreed with Pres. Barack Obamas handling of Libya. You would think he had been asked who is the president of Ubeki-beki-beki-beki-stan-stan, Cains joshing description of a prototypical gotcha foreign-policy question. What ensued was the longest five minutes of an editorial-board meeting ever.
Cain paused. Then he asked for a lifeline by trying to confirm with his questioner that President Obama supported the Libyan uprising. He started to say why he disagreed with Obama, but stopped after realizing, No, thats a different one. He hesitated again. Got all this stuff twirling around in my head, he explained. Cain hadnt been asked about an obscure conflict or one distant in time. Were not talking the War of Jenkinss Ear or the Second Peloponnesian War. He seemed to all but have missed that there had recently been a Libyan War that had taxed the capacities of NATO, created an intense conflict with Congress over presidential war powers, teetered on the brink of failure, and divided conservatives. For Cain, Libya was little more than a rumor of war.
In the hierarchy of gaffes, Rick Perrys was more forgivable than Cains. Everyone has lost his train of thought; few of us have run for president knowing little about major matters of public import.

This thread brought to you by the same political “geniuses” that brought you McCain 2008 and Dole 1996
Hasn’t NR gotten on the “Slick Mitt” gravy train? I miss the NR of Wm. F. Buckley, Jr., and Joseph Sobran.
It was a set-up. One reportard asked if he agreed with Bush’s handling of Libya right before that, and then another reporter asked about obama’s handling before Cain could answer.
Of course, the first question is cut from the clip being pimped by the LSM.
Hmm Rush Limbaugh says Rick Lowrey’s analysis of this is moronic. I say I have to agree.
RUSH: Now, he said that twice. He said, Well, Im for collective bargaining as long as its not collective hijacking, and as long as it doesnt create an undue burden on the state. Again, the attempt here is to make it sound as though he doesnt know what hes talking about. But on Libya, when you listen to the whole interview, the whole question and answer, he ended up getting Libya right. His biggest mistake was admitting he was having a hard time focusing. He shouldnt have said that in front of the enemy, the enemy being the editorial board, but he said Im having a hard time focusing here.
Federal workers do have collective bargaining. Some of them do. Some federal workers do have collective bargaining. Its not the same as in some of the states. For example, the air traffic controllers do have collective bargaining over their wages, and some federal workers only have collective bargaining rights over work conditions. Some of them have collective bargaining rights over other aspects, but not wages. Its all over the ballpark. It is a mistake to say that federal workers, as the editorial board member here said, dont have collective bargaining rights; some of them do.
In any event, substantively Cain was right. Substantively Cain got it right on collective bargaining for federal unionized workers, and the editors got it wrong. And even the Journal Sentinel article that accompanies the video eventually admitted that Cain got it right in his answer and their editors had it wrong. But no matter, they are attempting to portray via the video here a slow, ignorant, uninformed, unsure of himself candidate who really is just out classed and is just totally out of his league. And the video, under that impression, under those auspices, has gone viral, and thats the thought accompanying it with everybody who sends it out.
BREAK TRANSCRIPT
Yeah, pretty stupid guy to run all those major businesses and public advocacy organizations nationwide, turning some of them dramatically around with kudo after kudo from those who worked with or for him, and being a rocket mathematician for the US Navy Department on top of it, plus brilliantly challenging President Clinton on Hillarycare to his face, humiliating him live television. Cain must be a real lightweight idiot.
People need to stop falling for this!! Watch the WHOLE INTERVIEW.

http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/2809479/posts That’s where the article and discussion of what happened is located on FR. Interesting that the folks at NR are so easily trapped by Leftwingtard propagandists. Could be we don’t need to know what they’re thinking (if they can still think) these days.
However, there is one question that Cain, and his supporters should ask themselves. As a result of the events covered in this article, Cain cannot be chosen as a VP pick by any of the candidates..the reasons why are obvious..since the main job of a VP is to be ready to take over, the nominee wold have to deal with this all over again, in the context of his judgement in picking Cain. The campaign starts behind the 8-ball. It won't happen. Cain will NOT be anyone's pick.
So,we are left to ask if a person who can't be picked as his party's VP nominee should still continue to run for the highest office..?
And a Perry supporter who mistakenly believes that tearing down Cain will somehow help RINO Rick Perry whose campaign is in the gutter and still dropping.
Cain has the capacity but is not doing the work. It's almost offensive that he's asking for votes.
His "fans" will defend any gaffe, misfire, misstatement, knowledge gap he has no matter the subject or how frequently there are problems.
Some idea that we should just trust he'll get ready to face Obama between securing the votes to be the nominee and next fall's debates is asking too much of a worried electorate!
But I do not believe it; http://www.politico.com/news/stories/0511/55051.html
You and me both.
You’re reading tea leaves to defend Cain. How can that not bother you?
See #7 and #8. The whole thing was a setup, a trap, which was then carefully edited to give the impression that Cain was responsible for the confusion.
Rick Lowry is a jackass. It’s been several years since I’ve bothered to visit National Review Online. Bunch of lying Romneybots.
NRO is about as conservative these days as Time Magazine.
Yeah, Cain is dumb and can’t run anything. I mean just look at his record! He couldn’t find his way out of a wet paper bag.
This is all crap, pure crap. I could express all Cains great points here but instead I urge everyone who doubts to research it yourself. Cain is the man!
He didn’t wing it. Watch the whole interview. It was heavily edited to look like he didn’t have a clue.
Conservatives should be outraged that the JS/liberal media did this to Cain instead of carrying their water:

FOREIGN POLICY
“My foreign policy is an extension of the Reagan philosophy. My philosophy is peace through strength and clarity. We must clarify who our friends are; clarify who are enemies are; and stop giving money to our enemies. We need to tell the rest of the world who our friends are and that we stand with our friends... If you mess with Israel, you mess with the United States of America.” - Herman Cain

______________
From Herman Cain’s website:
The primary duty of the President of the United States is to protect our people. In fact, it is the principal duty of a limited federal government. They must ensure that our military and all of our security agencies are strong and capable.
Unfortunately, national security has become far too politicized with our elected officials using the issue as a means to polarize our country as the war hawks and the peace doves. In response, the safety and morale of our brave men and women in uniform are often at risk for political gain. The judgment of our military experts on the ground is often underutilized in exchange for political purposes. National security isnt about politics. Its about defending America.
While diplomacy is a critical tool in solving the complex security issues we face, it must never compromise military might. Because we are such a free and prosperous people, we are the envy of the world. Many regimes seek to destroy us because they are threatened by our ideals, and they resent our prosperity. We must acknowledge the real and present danger that terrorist nations and organizations pose to our countrys future.
Further, we must stand by our friends and we must not be fooled by our enemies. We should never be deceived by terrorists. They only have one objective, namely, to kill all of us. We must always remain vigilant in dealing with adversaries.
We must support our military with the best training, equipment, technology and infrastructure necessary to keep them in a position to win. We must also provide our men and women in uniform, our veterans and their families with the benefits they deserve for their tremendous sacrifice. These heroes have served us. We must never forget to serve them.
