A think tank founded by GOP presidential candidate Newt Gingrich collected at least $37 million over the past eight years from major health-care companies and industry groups, offering special access to the former House speaker and other perks, according to records and interviews.
The Center for Health Transformation, which opened in 2003, brought in dues of as much as $200,000 per year from insurers and other health-care firms, offering some of them access to Newt Gingrich and direct Newt interaction, according to promotional materials. The biggest funders, including firms such as AstraZeneca, Blue Cross Blue Shield and Novo Nordisk, were also eligible to receive discounts on products and workshops from other Gingrich groups.
The health center advocated, among other things, requiring that anyone who earns more than $50,000 a year must purchase health insurance or post a bond, a type of insurance mandate that has since become anathema to conservatives.

EXACTLY! That’s the reason I haven’t been on here much lately, it’s just too aggravating seeing FR rip all of the candidates apart. I have to wonder how many of them are really trolls that support Obongo.
You needed to triple post that drivel?
Sounds like another Marxist on the lose by opposing Newt on a legitimate business venture. He was a private citizen in a consulting business. What the hell is wrong with what his consulting business did? If someone came to you offering money for your opinion, would you say “hell no”? I seriously doubt it.
No, just anti-big government, which is what it appears Newt advocates.
Because it was for a LIBERAL cause and would have had a mighty impact on all of us.
Newt Gingrich's 1996 GOPAC memo As you know, one of the key points in the GOPAC tapes is that "language matters." In the video "We are a Majority," Language is listed as a key mechanism of control used by a majority party, along with Agenda, Rules, Attitude and Learning. As the tapes have been used in training sessions across the country and mailed to candidates we have heard a plaintive plea: "I wish I could speak like Newt." That takes years of practice. But, we believe that you could have a significant impact on your campaign and the way you communicate if we help a little. That is why we have created this list of words and phrases. This list is prepared so that you might have a directory of words to use in writing literature and mail, in preparing speeches, and in producing electronic media. The words and phrases are powerful. Read them. Memorize as many as possible. And remember that like any tool, these words will not help if they are not used. While the list could be the size of the latest "College Edition" dictionary, we have attempted to keep it small enough to be readily useful yet large enough to be broadly functional. The list is divided into two sections: Optimistic Positive Governing words and phrases to help describe your vision for the future of your community (your message) and Contrasting words to help you clearly define the policies and record of your opponent and the Democratic party. Please let us know if you have any other suggestions or additions. We would also like to know how you use the list. Call us at GOPAC or write with your suggestions and comments. We may include them in the next tape mailing so that others can benefit from your knowledge and experience.Language: A Key Mechanism of Control
Would love to see Herman as the nominee but I will not bash Newt for a what was a legitimate business venture and will support Newt if he is the nominee. Actually I am leaning toward Newt now because he would kick hell out of Obama in presidential debates. Cain needs to step up his campaign and study hard on the issues facing our nation. Of course he would have experts on all issues as a president but I would, I think, prefer to have someone with Newt’s knowledge in the Oval Office. Perhaps Cain/Gingrich or Gingrich/Cain but we all know that won’t happen. I sadly think Cain is done. It is a long road through the primary voting but we need to keep in mind: DEFEAT OBAMA!
Good for you. Love me some Sarah Palin. I was saddened when she decided not to run but maybe I can understand why she made that decision. I’m sure Trig is happy and better for it.But I certainly would hate to see McRomney get the nomination.
Troll
Same here. I really hadn’t been paying close attention to Newt until now. I knew about the Nancy Pelosi commercial but none of the other stuff. I even read an interview with his second wife from 95 where she stated that if she wanted she could end his political career with one interview.
Name calling does not mitigate the truth about Newt.
Newt’s well of corruption runs deeper than any on FR ever imagined. It will all come out and it won’t be pretty. Callista was part of all of this too. Newt is damaged goods.
counterproductive.
You don’t do yourself any good spamming the same cut and paste tripe on thread; after thread; after thread.
I see sidebar moderator smacked you down!
Good !
How many log in names do you have?
More threads from liberal rags? I find it interesting how many lib rags you & the gang read.
Reminds me of that creepy little bug on your homepage!
BTTT
It does the country no good if people refuse to look into Newt’s long and checkered past. Yes he’s a brilliant silver tongued wordsmith but he’s used his gift to enrich himself and push his ideological agenda which is not conservatism.
I read an observation that was made about Newt’s taking on the media. He did it to keep from answering a question about himself. It’s usually called deflection and obfuscation.
Onyx? she likes Newt
