You are right.
By using the Prohibition repeal model, it can be seen that legalizing whatever will cause use to explode. The war on drugs will not end, merely shift to selling drugs to minors and to the use of ever harder drugs.
It's puzzling that people seek solutions other than the obvious one of hermetically sealing the border.

Most who call for sealed borders don’t mean that international trade should stop, but that this trade requires the nod of whatever country the product is being brought into.

Congress has no constitutional authority to impose national drug prohibition. Do you agree?

As long as it’s illegal it will be $525 per lb. pot here and they will get it through no matter how hard we try to seal the border.
