Defining the word lobbyist is like Bill Clinton defining the word “is.” Influence peddling doesn’t necessarily mean the legal term lobbyist.

I don't remember the details, but I saw a story the other day about how people like Newt lobby without ever having to register as a lobbyist and it was all legal.

He presides over lobbyists. Doubt he makes any contacts himself. But he earns his living by lobbying, and other stuff. So does Dick Armey, his foe.
