I think the Churchill comparison is more apt.

Churchill didn't quit when he became a voice in the wilderness, Newt did.

No comparison is perfect, just as no person is, or was, including (and especially, Churchill).

If you think Churchill was flawless you don’t know history.

If you think Newt’s flaws are deal-breakers, you’re not paying attention.

Churchill didn't have to quit. He got thrown out by the brilliant socialist brits. You eleven year-old twits have to grow up and realize that sometimes, knowing when it is time to go, is not a moral failing but a virtue. We had the same nauseating stupidity (still do occasionally) with respect to Sarah Palin. Idiot prepubertal children were so upset when she resigned the governor's chair they just couldn't hold their water. Some still can't. Pathetic.
