I had never heard of this Elvis record until yesterday. Colonel Tom wanted to squeeze more profits out of his cash cow and wanted to issue a “live” album but RCA refused to let Colonel Tom use any of the Elvis music they owned. So he issued an album of Elvis speaking between songs in concert.
Hilarious.
And the Colonel pocketed the proceeds. Also, there are at least two volumes of it, and, as I understand it, was first issued on Colonel’s own record label. By then (if not earlier) he was making more than his client.
