Many of these were cancelled because of low ticket sales. I guess the promoters couldn't even bribe people with The Eagles or Keith Urban!

Exactly right. No one infringed upon their "free speech." They were free to say whatever they wanted, and they did.
Their up-till-that-moment fans were free to express themselves and respond however they wanted, and they did.
It works both ways. Sorry it wasn't the result y'all expected!
