Both parties' House leaders, Speaker John Boehner, R-Ohio, and Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., are among several lawmakers who profited from transactions that raised possible of conflicts of interest, according to a report on CBS' "60 Minutes."
**SNIP**
"Congress has never done more for consumers nor has the Congress passed more critical reforms of the credit card industry than under the speakership of Nancy Pelosi," Pelosi spokesman, Drew Hammill, said in a statement soon after the report aired Sunday night.
"It is very troubling that '60 Minutes' would base their reporting off of an already-discredited conservative author who has made a career out of attacking Democrats," he added.

This is why so many Republicans hesitate to ‘rock the boat’.
Does no one on our side have the balls to tell Boehner to step down (at minimum) if this is true?
I dont care what Nazi Pelosi- although I do hope she ends up in jail- because she makes all democraps look as bad as they really are
I SWEAR I heard Boehner say a day or two ago that he DOES NO TRADING...and hasn’t for years.
I didn’t hear ANY specifics on Boehner, except that he claimed his investments were in a blind trust.
Did 60 minutes have anything to pin on John?
Probably contortionally legal, but entirely unethical and immoral.
Congress EXEMPTS itself from many laws that you or I would go to jail for if we did what they did.
YES.This is not new. These politicians have. Been doing this crap for year’s.Thats why you’ll never see a poor politician.
I wonder...
If someone were to do insider trading, etc (Martha Stewart comes to mind); Couldn't a person claim equal protection under the law. Hell congress does it, why can't we? Would/could something like that go to the supremes if a person is convicted?
I asked that question to one of the best lawyers in America the other day.
The answer is yes.
Pelosi...she's a different story. She made most of her wealth last year while the sheeple were eating cake.
Yes, I heard him say that too. But the seed is planted by the Democrat lackeys in the press and then is simply picked-up and regurgitated here.
I swear nobody does there own research anymore. We may as well have HuffPost crawls at the bottom of the FR browser window.
I thought he simply claimed that he didn’t do the trading—as in, his broker or financial manager somehow did it for him, not that his funds were legally placed in a blind trust (which would be a whole different story).
This is why the libs win. I predict if there is any fallout from this, Boehner will step down and no dem give anything more than an “oops, sorry, won’t do it again..” presser.
Right. He said he hadn’t done a trade on his own in years.
Every member of the House has to publish a financial statement every year. Boehner’s looks pretty dry. And small potatoes. Without even looking I bet if we pull down Pelosi’s statement you could multiply each of Boehner’s investments by a factor of ten and then you’d be in the ballpark of where Queen Nancy sits on the income scale.
Boehner’s statement - http://clerk.house.gov/public_disc/financial-pdfs/2011/8201651.pdf
this is waht was the problem with the Repbulican majority it never worked to clean up Washington - all they did was spend money in the name of “it is our turn.” If they had DONE what Al Gore said, “Reinvent government.” we would have 1/4 less goevernment instead of 30% more.
Nothing of course will come of it, but unless he’s put his funds into a blind trust he doesn’t really have a legitimate denial of influence.
Oh, and small potatoes go a lot farther in OH than in SF.
