According to a new Iowa State University Poll, Herman Cain is still in first place in Iowa, with Ron Paul coming in second.
Here is how it stacks up:
Cain: 24.5 Paul: 20.4

I am voting Ron Paul. He is the only one without the baggage or taint of flip flops, scandal, gaffes, etc that can swing the pendulem in enough of a direction to get us to even keel.
The media talked incessantly about Reagan’s bloopers in 1980.
The people saw past that.
Not saying Cain compares to Reagan, but I am saying that there are people who look past the spin.
No one expects Cain to be an expert in foreign policy. Many people want an outside the beltway leader, proven problem solver, who is committed to cutting government, getting back to Constitutional principles.
Weren’t you assigned to dig into Cain’s trash cans to get dirt on him? Get back to work...
LOL! You are just sore that Paul came out with over twice as many votes as Perry did. Cain is completely gaffeless! He just is not an endless babbler like Newt is. But be thankful for small favors, Perry beat Newt!

Now, the question should be: which 2012 candidate's life and demonstrated achievements indicate a passion for liberty, along with a determination to inspire enough citizens to push their representatives in government to "retrace our steps and to regain the road which alone leads to peace, liberty, and safety"
What the Left calls a Cain gaffe? When, for reasons of his own, Mr. Cain decides not to answer a question because he has already answered it so many times before: Unless a man is briefed daily, there is no way he can know the answer to that question. That’s not an excuse. That is the truth! But people are no longer taught how to think, so they simply don’t get it! Go Herman Cain! Congrats!
Well, that’s interesting. Polls give folks like us something to talk about, but a lot can and will change before the first primary votes are cast. While “we” tend to follow the nuances and ups and downs, most folks (the VAST majority) do not, many voters are becoming independent, having grown frustrated with both major parties, and will vote for the person, not the party.
While we fuss away and pick at each others opinions, in the end only time will tell.
I think we all really need to realize that what you see is what you get with Cain. He’s a solid businessman, and would likely do wonders for our economic problems. However, on foreign policy — he’s clueless.
Then again, if we continue to run up this debt, our “brilliant” foreign policies aren’t going to matter a hill of beans.
I dont agree with RP on everything, but compared to the other train wrecks, he is far better.
Only poll that counts is the one on election day.
We do not need more career politicians! They’ve brought us to where we are, and I, for one do not want to be where we are today. We need fresh air, integrity, and a man who can lead without being led himself! That’s Herman Cain.
No one who has not been president knows beans about foreign policy! People who question Mr. Cain’s ability have lost sight of the fact that he is a master at appointing the right people to help him. That’s been proven time and again in everything the man has undertaken!
How many other candidates can boast of the same?
I beg to differ with you. It is very important who we ultimately choose to represent us in the general election. He must come with all the attributes and ideas necessary to the people in order to win the White House. So again, that is why this process is so terribly important. The man with the most poll wins behind him attracts the funds by which he can continue after he wins the nomination.
Unfortunately, the Establishment differs with the people. They forced John McCain on us last time, a real loser. And they will do everything they can to do that again.
Don’t let them do it, FReeperes! Put in your time in working for Herman Cain with all your families and friends. We all have a dog in this fight! Now let’s do it!
Really? You really want to go with that argument? Let me guess, you are a Newt person. Well, your guy might debate like a master, but he is losing to the current high school debater. and, for such a smart guy, Newt has done and said some really dumb things. His campaign will implode.
The problem is that fox news is a national poll. State by state is where this will be won. It is where Cain is so strong.
As others have said; no candidate needs to know all the minutiae of the myriad of subjects a President has to deal with; that's why the President has a staff, a Cabinet and a host of other Secretary's and advisers. I have sat thru literally hundreds of 4-Star level video teleconferences (Full Disclosure: Because of the type job I performed; not what my rank was ...I was a VERY small cog on a very small gear in a very large gear train) and if folks on FR think Flag Officers know everything about everything under their command they are badly deluded. That's why GO’s have staffs and subordinate Commanders; and why those Commanders have staffs and SME’s (subject matter experts). In terms of decision making, it all works to sort out what is most important and move those priority items up thru the chain of command; ultimately to where the final decisions are made. The bottom line is that the same process occurs for decisions that are ultimately made at the White House.
I want a person at the top who is honest, intelligent and has the character and drive to be a leader. I don't want another Beltway insider who will ultimately prostitute whatever values they espoused for power and political expediency
