Let's see, how long did it take just hearsay to pull down Cain? Three weeks. Newt's history is much more d_mning and documented. By the time the media is finished with him, he'll be battling Huntsman for the bottom. Note the media attack on Newt follows the line...you criticize democrats about Fannie and Freddie, yet you took money from them. They'll follow the same line on any Republican candidate that has followed any policy in the past that remotely looks liberal. That's why you need the most solid conservative opponent possible that has not compromised.

C Edmund and Throwback, this is the stuff that drives me insane. Not even Palin meets your threshold of purity.

How can we win if we can’t unify on backing all our candidates (perhaps less Huntsman and Ron Paul) until we know who’s left standing against Obama. Yes, I’d even back Romney over Obama as I at least want my country to survive.

We need to get out of gradeschool in politics whereas the enemy, the Soros/Ayers/Obama regime is in college already.

Hope you aren’t right. Newt is a much more qualified and deeper candidate than Cain. Cain doesn’t have the experience or the knowledge of the issues. He is not a good debator from a facts standpoint. It looks like he is not able to come up with the right answers at times. I just think Newt is a much better candidate.

That’s interesting that you and I use the same fact - that Newt’s history is more documented - to reach opposite conclusions. You think that means he’ll suffer more from the scrutiny. I think it means he is already vetted and this stuff is old news.

History will judge who is right, but I respect your opinion and appreciate the reasoned disagreement.
