“He will never get the black vote no matter what he does. This will divide the nation even more than what Barry has done.”

Not possible.

“If it comes down to a contest between Obama and Newt, I’m going with Newt.”

Nailed it. If it comes down to a contest between Obama and (insert any name here), I’m going with (insert any name here).

You have a point. But I would like conservatives to rally around all candidates, not just their favorites. I heard Laura Ingraham subtly dumping on Cain the other day. Today she’s defending Newt. I actually back Bachmann, but the evidence against Cain is extremely weak. Yet many of the so-called right wing radio shows played the audio of Cain’s Libya gaffe. Granted it happened, but I assume it was 2 minutes out of a several hour interview. So they play the 2 minutes, and they play into the intended effect; presto he’s now an idiot and a womanizer.

You’re right. Ingraham has picked Romney from the get-go, as has Coulter. Coulter is now an establishment type- I think she’s full of her success now. This is more cumbyya, but part of me would like to see a Gingrich, outside-the-box tactic like all candidates less Huntsman get on stage holding hands or some semblance of this and say in unison, we are one candidate and we will not tear each other down...debate us left vs. right...I’m thinking out loud with coffee, like I said...my point is to reject the media much like Gingrich did with Money-honey.

>> Newt’s history is much more d_mning and documented. By the time the media is finished with him, he’ll be battling Huntsman for the bottom. >>

That’s interesting that you and I use the same fact - that Newt’s history is more documented - to reach opposite conclusions. You think that means he’ll suffer more from the scrutiny. I think it means he is already vetted and this stuff is old news.

History will judge who is right, but I respect your opinion and appreciate the reasoned disagreement.

Newt knows a lot of brilliant people. I can only imagine who he would nominate to flummox the idiots in the Senate who would vet them.

LOL! Coffee is one of the main food groups for any and all political discussion.

You make great sense and write very good. As far as the MSM, Newt indicated the other night during his round with CBS’s Pelly, how well any attempts by the media to correct him or discredit him will go.

For once, we seem to have a candidate on our side who knows how to fight back. Using those long dead and stagnant issues against Newt, most of which the general public has already heard and could care less about, are not working.

You can't say that they have not tried over the last month or so either. Newt just keeps on gaining every time they air a debate and try to trip him up. I cannot recall watching a debate and actually loving and being so entertained at watching a candidate shred the puny brained Media elite with such fervor!

My father-in-law is black and said he wouldn’t vote for Cain for dog catcher.
Don’t even try to understand;we can’t. Black democrats have been so misprogrammed by the left and their representative plantation bosses (Jesse, Al, Tavis Smiley, etc.) you can’t put the genie back in the bottle. They believe EVERY word Obama says, every word NPR, CNN, MSNBC says. Now you see why I’m so frustrated.

You make some excellent points. Face it, in January of 2013 a deeply flawed individual will take the oath of office after being voted on by something like 120 million other deeply flawed individuals.

The current occupant’s flaws include a hatred for this nation as founded, an ignorance of and hatred of the free market, and a love of socialism/Marxism/statism/ whatever ism you want.

I suggest we filter our discussions through this prism, because, damnit, THIS IS THE PRISM we live in. It is what it is.

My reaction when the Freddie thing came out: Really, that's what they're hoping to turn into a Newt scandal? Will most folk really give a crap? My initial view was - they're really desperate if that's all they can come up with. Maybe after the media polishes this turd long enough it will actually become shiny.

I'd love to believe that Obama is so broadly unpopular in America that he could be defeated by Elmer Fudd, or by Daffy Duck for that matter.

I'm hardly convinced that such is the case. The President remains enormously popular with significant swaths of the voting age public - garnering 70%-90% support among Hispanics and blacks, who make up a growing segment of our population. He also has significant public-sector union support, and let us not forget: a billion-dollar war chest.

Additionally, the dynamics of Presidential electoral politics increasingly militate in favor of Democrats, who can easily count on California, Washington and Oregon, most of the Northeast (except for NH and possibly, Maine), the upper Midwest (IL, MN, WI), and also, because of population shifts: NM, NV, AZ and CO.

Partially offsetting those Democrat advantages are Republican gains in Texas and Florida. But I don't think those gains alone are likely, at least at this point in time, to overcome the lack of a popular, unifying GOP standard-bearer who can not only hold Republican territory, but also obtain narrow electoral margins in key states like OH, MI, PA, VA, and NC.

It won't be easy. America has changed in the past 20 years, and mostly not for the better.

Oh, I agree that there are black voters whose ignorance is institutionalized and reinforced by the MSM. My “not possible” comment was in reference to the idea that anyone could divide the nation even more than Barry has done. I really don’t think anyone could.

Rush & Glenn are NOT behind Romney, Ann Coulter has lost all
credibility and if we do not stand behind a conservative candidate
we will NOT have a conservative candidate!!!! Our government has
been run by professional politicians, how’s that workin out for ya!!!!
Herman Cain will surround himself with the right people he CAN win,
the average American is just fed up!!!! We get a conservative now or
we lose our country, plain and simple this is the fight of our lifetime
folks, get behind a conservative and FIGHT for them the hell with the
media, we must WORK around them!!!!!

Your analysis is spot on IMO. Especially the part about WOW -Newt Swam in DC circles!

Indeed. People need to grow up. Folks who are 65-70 years old and in a position to run for President are folks who have done more good, more bad, and swam in more circles than the average person. That’s just how it is.

What we should concentrate on is who will govern the nation in a way that gives us the most freedom to live our lives the way we see fit - and quit worrying so much about the impurities in their past unless those impurities guarantee that they’ll not govern in the way described above.

Everyone God used was deeply flawed - in both Testaments! Why do we think we’re going to get any better selection?

On the other hand, I find you breathtakingly perceptive!!!
