A doggie gas chamber? I thought that dogs got a shot of something to put them down.

Here in South Australia it’s done with a shot.Gas chamber sounds terrible.I’ve stood holding my dogs and talking to them all the way till their heart stops after their shot. Can’t imagine you could do that with a gas chamber. The poor thing would be alone. The whole thing sucks...dogs should live forever.

Some pounds still carbon monoxide.
According to the article: “At least 15 states, including New Jersey and New York, have banned carbon monoxide for euthanising shelter animals, but it is still a method used in many parts of the country.”

I have had to have two dogs put to sleep. One as the result of old age and the other a victim of being severely mauled and traumatized by two pit bulls. In both cases they received a shot. I would guess the gas chamber is used when they kill them in larger quantities.
Glad to see the Beagle is adjusting to his new family. The Doxie seems a little jealous in the one picture.
