You don't need a poll to tell you who's hot on the Republican primary side. Whoever is hot is hit. It's a full-fledged take-'em-out media approach, and the only guy who is immune to this is Mitt Romney. Mitt is not hit. They're saving that up for later. It was Herman Cain, it was Sarah Palin before Herman Cain, and it was Michele Bachmann when she won the Iowa straw poll. They think they've taken Herman Cain out. They're still hitting Herman Cain, and now they've moved on to Newt -- and if somebody comes along and replaces Newt at the top in the polling data you won't need the polling data to know. You'll just have to see who it is the media's decided to take out among our side next.

Every one of us knows the media will unload double barrels on Romney the second he wraps up the primary. Newt is currently getting the hit.
They’re also saving their Romney hit pieces for the general.
Rush and Sean and the other talkers are going to have a long year if they defend everything that can be brought out for this batch of candidates. I’d rather see them use their time to fire away with the equivalent hits against Obama. Where were the Larry Sinclair interviews if they wanted to make a point about the Cain accusations? Barry’s got skeletons like Imelda Marcos had shoes.
The only solution is to force the equivalent dirt out on Barry IMO. Trying to claim that Cain somehow has a clue re: Libya is a losing position.
“Yer a grate American!”
Do you think Obama won in 2008 because conservatives stayed home?
How many people here stayed home and didn't vote because McCain was nominated?
How many people said they would stay home and didn't?
McCain lost because he lost the swing voters, not conservatives.
——————Do you think Obama won in 2008 because conservatives stayed home?-——————
Yes, but not just because they stayed home on election day.
They stayed home from rallies. They stayed home from call centers. They stayed home from canvassing streets and so forth. And other forms of activism that base members routinely go out and do. The base stayed home, and they stayed home repeatedly. Staying home on election day was only the final act of what they had been doing for months already.
When the base stays home, the candidate loses out on more than just a vote on election day. If there’s no energy, the candidate loses big.
—————McCain lost because he lost the swing voters, not conservatives.————————
There’s a link between the two. Because McCain lost the base, he lost swing voters. Candidates need the base. Maybe not all of it, but large portions of it. McCain lost large portions of it.
I gotta believe that this also explains Newt's sudden appearance in first place in a number of recent polls...they are fakes. The media would like nothing less than Romney and/or Newt at the top, for they already have experience making Newt into a demon, and Romney might as well be a Dem.
