If I were king.

I’d send all the kids home with the message that there will be no school till I can get all the parents together in the auditorium to set up a series of meetings on the future of education.

Among my suggested reforms. I’d continue to use the building but treat every classroom as individual private schools. Costs for building maintenance would be shared and those with lesser means would be expected to offset costs by volunteering to do simple maintenance and custodial duties. All regular staffing would be contractors and volunteers. The school board would consist only of paying members of the school. All parents would be required to attend a minimum number of school board meetings of face a small financial penalty.
