Calling America "lazy" last weekend was only the latest and broadest insult from President Obama. America has become accustomed to Obama's lashing out at entire groups of people. What has been all too little appreciated is his seeming delight in bullying, if not demeaning, individuals face-to-face. He is protected from angry responses not just by the Secret Service, but by the reverence his victims have for the office he holds.
This is a level of respect for the institution of the presidency that Obama does not share or hold dear. For him, the bully pulpit has taken an entirely different -- and disgraceful -- meaning from the one given to it by Teddy Roosevelt. What does it say about Barack Obama that he indulges in personal insults? What does this mean for America?
Barack Obama first rose to national prominence when he gave his speech at the 2004 Democratic National Convention. The soaring rhetoric -- there is no white America; there is no black America; there is no blue America or red America; there is the United States of America -- established him as a person who could warm our hearts with promises of unity and not division. He seemed ever so likeable.
But the façade soon slipped when we began to hear the real Barack Obama -- not the one reading so well from the teleprompter that fateful night in Boston. The pose could last for only so long.
The mask began to slip, of course, way back in April 2008, when we learned how Obama really felt about small-town Americans:

Bookmarked.
Barry really is a classless cheap shot artist.
Yes he is. We see or read about these pathetic incidents and tend to forget just how often he pulls these stunts.
Insecure people act this way. They think by knocking down others, it makes them look big. Time for the Republicans to get tough and quit showing up for him to taunt. He’s a punk.
The smart thing to do is for the Repubs involved is to go to before the cameras and point it out every time he pulls this crap. Do NOT do the “Republican whine” and wail about hurt feelings. Rather, pound home the point at every opportunity, that this is unworthy, unproductive, immature behavior that has nothing to do with the business of the nation.
Keep hammering this point home and gradually the public will pick up on it and eventually phrases like “the old Obama tantrum” and “switched into bully mode” will become part of the lexicon. Even the MSM will start picking it up.
I absolutely adore American Thinker.
Great God, where do we begin?
The abandonment of, first his father, then his mother are all too obvious.
Then there’s this little matter of his twisted relationship with pervert commie Frank Marshall Davis.
Did Davis molest him? Was Davis his bio-daddy? Was he both?
Remember his sinister little poem “Pop.”
Most countries’ intelligence services compile dossiers and long-distance psycho-analyses of their opposite numbers. We certainly did with Hitler. What do you suppose they have put together?
Yup. Just start turning down his invitations. He's not worthy of their presence.
I agree, something should be done.
The problem as I see it is the enemedia will pick up on it and make the Republicans seem like whiners. Maybe it’s to the point now where they’d have a hard time doing that because it’s the media that should be screaming about his adolescent behavior.
Amen to that.
The enemedia is going to do that anyway.
I would love to stand in the front row and yell that he should STFU...he has never actually worked a day in his life.
The simple fact is that Obama has never worked a day in his life. So where does he get off dissing Americans who are trying make it in a work environment that is full of obstacles and shackles he and his cronies have forced on us BTW, his wife had a Chicago style six figure no show patronage job herself, so I really could care less about her opinion either.
The poem “Pop” is very disturbing. It doesn’t reflect Barry’s plodding writing style. I tend to believe Davis wrote it.
Classless cheap shot artist. Best description yet. His lazy American comment is going to make a great campaign commercial for us.
Whatever foreign countries have put together on Obama, it's clear they don't take him very seriously any more. Sending Geithner to Europe to lecture them about how to fix their economy was embarrassing.
I'm concerned about his trip to Australia. He's got a whole new country to insult and lecture to.
