I held out my palm, and she laughed at the telltale red waffle marks. Also, she showed me to hold the gun by pulling backward with my right hand, while pushing forward with my left. I'm confused as the grip.

Thats how I do it. Of course, I'm a terrible shot...
...But I take pride in the fact that I'm a terrible shot who shoots the same way Daniel Boone and Davy Crockett did. Instinct :)
