Hundreds of police officers surrounded the park in riot gear with plastic shields across their faces, holding plastic shields and batons which were used in some cases on protesters.

I don’t remember that. The cops stood around while the protestors got very excited that someone was noticing them. Then they spent a lot of time Tweeting and shouting pointless things.
