Obama's Crude Chutzpah
The American Spectator ^ | 11-15-11 | Aaron Glodstein

Over the weekend at the Asia-Pacific Economic Coperation (APEC) Summit in Honolulu, President Obama raised a few eyebrows when he criticized a lack of ingenuity on the part of Americans in attracting foreign investment:

But we've been a little bit lazy, I think, over the last couple of decades. We've kind of taken for granted -- well, people will want to come here and we aren't out there hungry, selling America and trying to attract new business into America.

President Obama's choice of words was at best peculiar and at worst pedantic. Forty-eight hours earlier, the Obama Administration delayed approval of the Keystone XL Pipeline until after the 2012 election. The Keystone XL Pipeline, which would transport crude oil from the oil sands in northern Alberta into the United States as well as U.S. domestic oil, is being built by TransCanada, which is based in Calgary. The last time I checked Canada is a foreign country. Ergo this would constitute foreign investment. Apparently, President Obama's appetite for foreign investment isn't as insatiable as he would have us believe. Talk about chutzpah in its crudest form.

The Keystone XL is actually an extension of the existing Keystone Pipeline that went into operation in 2008. The extension would have been twofold. First, the pipeline that currently ends in Oklahoma would be extended into the Gulf Coast of Texas.

I hate it when either Zero or Moochelle uses the word ‘hungry’ in reference to our citizens. If we are actually ‘hungry’ for anything, why won't they let us eat the foods we enjoy????

“We’ve kind of taken for granted — well, people will want to come here and we aren’t out there hungry, selling America and trying to attract new business into America. “

Absolutely Correct, we are too busy trying to fend off our GOVERNMENT, who is doing everything possible to DESTROY our way of Life and usher us into the third world in an effort to make the world more fair.

So, Americans are lazy, fat and un-motivated?

What’s the matter with them all? Don’t they like working hard and paying almost fifty per-cent in income taxes, not-to-mention property taxes, gasoline taxes and local sales taxes?

Don’t they like accumulating wealth while knowing that more than fifty percent of it will be confiscated from their heirs when they’re gone?

Don’t they like working hard and then having people call them greedy, evil, mean, un-caring and hard-hearted?

Hmmmmm? The poor little babies don’t like living in slavery? Hmmmm?

/Sarcasm/

We can complain all we want but it's hot air from our side. Our leaders are so wimpy and miss opportunities to lead and change the course of public opinion. Look at congress. 10% approval. Couldn't Boehner or Cantor or any R from the senate simply get up and vehemently take umbrage with such a statement in front of a camera, then YouTube it? Why is that so hard? Obama is NOT leading. It is opportunities like this to lead that our side should grasp and take the mantle and make Obama look wimpy. Stuff like that will win the majority Senate and hold the house in 2012, but our side is stupid.
