Is a vote for the Republican Party in 2012 a vote for war?
Is a vote for Mitt Romney or Newt Gingrich a vote for yet another unfunded war of choice, this time with a nation, Iran, three times as large and populous as Iraq?
Mitt says that if elected he will move carriers into the Persian Gulf and "prepare for war." Newt is even more hawkish. America should continue "taking out" Iran's nuclear scientists i.e., assassinating them but military action will probably be needed.
Newt is talking up uber-hawk John Bolton for secretary of state..

Of course it is. That’s what the base wants. That foreign policy debate clarified things for me. I had been trying to convince myself to vote for Newt, but after that debate, I decided I cannot vote for another hubristic, arrogant neocon. No thanks.
Buchanan is just sucking up to MSNBC, and his book, “How the Right Went Wrong” failed to sell.
War party? Is that the party of Wilson, FDR, JFK, and LBJ?
I said some time ago that John Bolton would make a good SOS. The president would have to go to Congress (unlike our current president)if he found it imperative to go to war.
As far as Iran goes, I think Mr. Cain would try everything possible to avoid war, but if we must we must. Better make the first strike rather than the second strike with nukes.
When he received that question first off on Saturday’s debate he said he would aid the dissidents against Iran’s current regime. That was a very good answer.
I liked Pat Buchanan when he ran years ago.
What’s the alternative look like? A nuclear Iran may kill millions of people. Think what might of happened if we intervened before hitler built his military machine. I certainly don’t want to go in and fight another war with our hands tied behind our back. But I could support an air campaign or support Israel if they will do the deed.
So who does that leave?
Buchanan preparing to endorse Obama?
Could be worse, Pat. We could have a CIC like Ron Paul who says the answer to the Iranian nuclear problem is to “try to be friends with them”. Now that’s some real statesmanship.
Actually, if the Iranians incinerated Tel Aviv, Pat wouldn’t necessarily see that as a bad thing...
We have weapons of mass destruction! Screw with us or any of our allies and you will find how just how destructive they are!!end of statement!
His friends at MSLSD would cheer with him.
Ron Paul?
Obama hasn't taken war off the table with Iran either. Romney and Newt see war with Iran as the last option of many options and only after those have failed.
Which war has Obama ended?
He added: Yemen, Pakistan and Libya.
-Daily Predator strikes.
-GITMO, it’s still there.
-Renditions too.
-Leon Panetta says water boarding works.
Looks like Pat likes Obama.
Bingo.
Pat’s a Storm Fronter that would love to see Paul win
Boy, that’s a brilliant comment.
Buchanan is smarter and more conservative than anyone in your political field of view.
How many book you got published?
“”But if Iran represents, as Bibi Netanyahu is forever reminding us, an “existential threat,” why does not Israel itself, with hundreds of nuclear weapons, deal with it?””
“”Bibi’s inaction speaks louder than Bibi’s words””.
