I'll say one thing for your man, Newt: at least he has the class and the honor not to attack the other Republican candidates. He knows that they all have a common opposition in Obama.

He needs a better class of supporters, though.

I agree with you on Newt having the intelligence not to attack the other Republican candidates. One of the things I like the best about Newt is his intelligence and grasp of the issues. I also admire his ability to respond so quickly and incisively to the essence of the issue in a debate format.

I remain unhappy with his personal life, however.

Romney certainly has the “presidential look” about him, and seems to have a personal life that is admirable, but is too attached to the “network”, if you get my drift. He seems to be the one they all want. And after they get him to be the pubbie candidate, they will go after the Morman thing.

That disgusts me, as most of us know how easily the “electorate” can be manipulated into suspicion of the “different”. All the MSM needs to do is start wondering about his undergarments, for crying out loud, and there goes his candidacy!

I am not sure Romney has a strong enough character to go up against the lobbys and congress, even though he is good in an individual business situation.

Cain is interesting to me, because he has had to struggle all his life against the stream, and he has managed to succeed in a world that doesn’t accommodate minorities who do not perform. (Unlike Obammy and Colin Powell, who came up within systems obliged to promote by quotas)

And, sad as it is, the best way to defeat Obama is by selecting a minority who can run rings around him, in every way. Cain has proven his worth, and scares the bejeebers out of the deems, because he takes away the race card.

You all know how the deems love to toss that down, don’t you?

What makes me sad about Cain is that I do not think he deserves the awful cr@p that has come, and will come his way - just because he is totally qualified to be a conservative candidate, and one that all of us would be proud to support to defeat the Obamanites.

Cain really is a decent man, however, and I do not wish the next four years on any conservative, for the problems faced by this country really ought to stay right in the lap of the bunch that have caused them, and that is not the conservatives.

Maybe we should all get behind the big O and make sure he gets the blame for the total collapse, and not a conservative?

Now I am getting depressed and desperate, because I can’t see a way out of our economic mess, never mind the winds of war, which are beginning to whisper around the corners of Europe and the near east.

I guess it is time to go to bed, and do some serious praying, but I fear it is way too late. As Pogo said....
