But it will crate and keep many good union scale jobs. Union scale jobs that vote Democratic agn give lots of money to the party. and that is the total intent. it has nothing to do with transportation. if fact, if you are talking about transportation you have already lost the argument.

If this wasn’t so funny it would be sad.
Knowing Kalifornia, they will ask for an energy waiver so they could use coal, then they will build a huge tunnel for the train to roll through.
Of course they will not be allowed to vent the tunnel because it would put pollution in the air.
After the first person perishes, I can see the headline about how lack of environmental restrictions by the Republicans caused this.

Perhaps all of the corruption and failure exposed in the ChiCom system has been an inspiration to the Governor.

Between cars and planes, the niche for high-speed rail is way to small to ever become viable.
Besides, high-speed rail should not be built in earthquake zones.

Jerry Brown’s request will go nowhere. The GOP-led House is bot going to approve anywhere near the funds he seeks. And without them, the chances of the Legislature approving the project range from slim to none.
California would be better off spending the money to upgrade freeways and building new ones and improving its existing airport runways.
Spending billions on a train to service those well-known bustling metropolises of Corcoran and Borden is not the wisest use of the state’s scarce public transportation dollars.
Its the dollars and cents, stupid. Put the bullet train out of its misery. Kill it!

No, we've got 10 of millions of them. You are correct that Jerry Brown is an absolute clown. He should be wearing white bloomers with red polka dots, white pancake makeup and have a big red nose. That would suit him. But the average Californian is simply too stupid to know any better. He will take the state over a cliff if it is not already in that condition. But the real problem is not Jerry Brown but an electorate capably of pushing the button for him.
As far as high speed rail is concerned it will never be built unless the Feds step and and fund it. I can't see that happening unless the Democrats regain control of Congress. If that were to happen, then Nancy, Barbara, and Diane would try to restore the funding and send the bill to people in the rest of the country. No sane person would buy one of the bonds to fund this boondoggle.
The problem in California is Californians.

Was the California of the past that gave us Silicon Valley great or not?
To: SeekAndFind
First, Lincoln didnt build the transcontinental railroad; the railroads built the line themselves with minimal support from Congress. Well, the railroad companies did build it themselves, but they ripped off the U.S. taxpayers with fraudulent subsidies from Congess. Nothing changes! They were given subsidies for laying rail at different rates, depending on the terrain. Of course, they greatly overstated the mileage for mountainous grade versus flat terrain. Part of the money needed for the transcontinental railroad was gotten by cheating investors and customers on the vision of infrastructure (towns and commerce) that did not exist - again, nothing changes.

The businesses in Silicon Valley were built with private money. Brown and the Democrats take credit for what others did.
