I don’t study this that closely. It’s gross.

Was the 98 incident the faggot rape? If they were going to be weasels and not report it, he should at least been banned from all Penn State Campuses permanently

If that had happened, it would have been bad, but not as bad as what happened, which was allow him to continue faggot raping in their school.

And everybody in whatever chain or whatever let him stay around and continuing to faggot rape.

Do I have this right? He was caught twice? Same place? 4 years apart? Most recent 9 years ago?

Why did it take so long to get rid of this faggot rapist?

Sodom and Gomorrah. The students rioted in favor of Sodomy.

From Wikipedia
After the angels received the hospitality of Abraham and Sarah, his wife, God reveals to Abraham that he will destroy Sodom and Gomorrah, because their cry is great, “and because their sin is very grievous.”[Gen 18:20] In response, Abraham reverently inquires of God if he would spare the city if 50 righteous people were found in it, to which God agrees he would not destroy it for the sake of the righteous yet dwelling therein. Abraham then inquires of God for mercy at lower numbers (first 45, then 40, then 30, then 20, and finally at 10), with God agreeing each time.[Gen 18:22-33][21]

“Was the 98 incident the faggot rape?”

no. he was recorded on tape admitting he showered with a boy.
The boy didn’t say he was molested, and Sandusky didn’t admit to molesting the boy.
It seems that the prosecutor must have thought this evidence was not strong enough to bring charges.

Coincidentally...he “retired” the next year in the prime of his coaching career much to the confusion of many.
He didn’t even receive tempting offers from other programs to be their head coach. Funny that.

in 2002 he was witnessed raping a 10 year old boy.

the police were finally alerted to Sandusky’s activity in 2008 or 2009.
It wasn’t psu that notified them though, but rather officials from a high school where Sandusky was allowed to breeze in and have alone time with kids.
One of the kids finally told someone, and those adults had no problem getting on the phone to law enforcement.

All of them that are known as of now were little boys. ‘98 was reported by the boy’s mom to the police, and there was even an almost confession on tape that - supposedly - the DA felt wasn’t enough to slap him with anything.

I assume the AD Curley and VP Schultz knew of the details of that investigation and the tape because of their position. The grand jury report doesn’t say if and what Paterno knew, although about a year later he let Sandusky go. Whether due to rumor, gut, or actual info I don’t know, but considering things went to the cops and the DA and they did nothing, Paterno still forced him to retirement.

As I understand it, it’s standard for ex-coaches to have continued access to the facilities. I don’t know about the ‘Professor Emeritus’ thing whether that was standard or negotiated. Some people say Paterno got both for Sandusky, but again there is no mention of that in the report, in fact it’s implied that it’s part of the basic retirement package.

Some people are wanting to say that Paterno was protecting Sandusky in the ‘98 incident, I guess I don’t see how since it went to the cops and DA and they rejected it, leaving it to the world of rumor and suspicion. Apparently still he was supposed to call the governor, President, the UN, and send out a contingent of Marines led by Jesus to nuke the entire eastern seaboard.

The ‘02 incident is IMO where Paterno fell on his face. That was never taken to the police and I think deserved some followup, although at that point as I said Sandusky was booted from using the facilities and not allowed to bring kids on campus. Joe should have made some calls after it was determined that nothing would be done.

Everything after that was off campus. Of the 8 victims in the report only 4 were witnessed and 3 reported, the last one resulting in the grand jury. Paterno certainly didn’t do more than the minimum, and considering the high bar he set, failed miserably and exhibited moral cowardice.

But I think saying he protected Sandusky is a stretch. It was not he who ruled there was no case. That falls to the higher ups in the school and law enforcement that had the ability to really do something. In fact the argument that Joe was the CEO who cared only about football actually helps him. He reported Sandusky in ‘02 and didn’t seem to give a rat’s ass what happened to him, and with Sandusky no longer coach and a big liability, the university basically had Paterno’s tacit approval to nuke the guy with nothing to lose.

But they didn’t when it was in their best interests to do so. Why? Because I think there was something bigger they were protecting. Important and powerful people and some real evil filth going on at the Second Mile.
