When I was a kid the internet was decades away. If I couldn’t find it in the school library or the Encyclopedia Britannica I wasn’t going to find it.

Same here, and I spent hours poring over the Encyclopaedia Britannica.

my brain still remembers all these facts of history etc that post folks never knew and most people have no such aptitude and find folks who do that like us...to be irritating

poring over encylopedias and Classics Illustrated too...really gave me a heads up as a boy...no question
